NEET Syllabus 2021 | Additional Study Material for CAT PDF Download

NEET syllabus is the first thing that must be understood by an aspirant who is planning to prepare for NEET 2021. Knowing the NEET syllabus 2021 is one thing, and understanding the contents of that syllabus is quite another. By contents of the syllabus, we mean the individual topics and subtopics that fall in that syllabus.

It is for this reason that we recommend the student to understand the syllabus by getting into the details of the different topics and subtopics, by understanding the different types of questions that have come from those topics and subtopics, and by understanding their relevance in the context of the latest NEET exam pattern.

Before we go ahead into the nitty-gritty of the NEET syllabus, we would let you know that there is an official syllabus of NEET released by the NTA and the syllabus that you see here is in accordance with that.

The NEET exam tests the aspirants in three areas

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology

We will try to understand the syllabus for NEET Chemistry in this doc.

NEET Syllabus: Chemistry

The NEET Chemistry section contains 45 questions amounting to 180 marks. It accounts for 25% of the exam.

It is mainly divided into three parts:

  • Physical Chemistry: It’s the numerical section of NEET Chemistry. Understanding the concepts is crucial for this section as it is difficult to interpret a numerical without understanding the related concepts. From this section, the probability of getting theory-based questions is quite less.
  • Organic Chemistry: You are advised to understand and memorise all the equations, formulae, and reactions given in NCERT textbooks. Memorise the names of various compounds that constitute reagents, subtracts, etc. To gain command over this section, you need to practice a variety of questions from reference books as well.
  • Inorganic Chemistry: It is the easiest section of NEET Chemistry. It takes less time as numerical, and formula-based questions are usually not asked from this section. You are advised to understand the basic concepts taught in NCERT textbooks thoroughly.
