Animals like the lion, tiger, giraffe and bear cannot be kept at home. They are found in the forests. These animals are called wild animals. We can also see some of these animals in the zoo.

We know that wild animals live in the forests. A lion lives in a den. A bear lives in a cave.

The elephants rest under the shade of the trees. The monkeys live on the trees. Birds make nests on trees to lay eggs and keep their babies safe.

Food of Wild Animals

Different wild animals eat different food.

Animals like the elephant, rhinoceros and deer only eat plants.

Animals like the hyena, jackal and vulture eat the remains of dead animals. By doing so, they keep the forest clean.

Protection of Wild Animals

Wild animals make our world beautiful. They should not be harmed. Some people kill animals like the tiger, rhinoceros and elephant for their body parts. This is an offence in the eyes of the law. Forests are homes to many wild animals. We should not cut trees and destroy the forests. We should protect our forests and save animals.
