Plants are an important part of our world. They give us food, oxygen, and help make the Earth beautiful. A plant has different parts, and each part has a special job to do. The roots, stem, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds all work together to help the plant grow and stay healthy. In this document, we will learn about these parts of a plant and what each of them does.
Parts of Plants
Roots grow under the ground and hold the plant firmly in place. Their main job is to take in water and nutrients from the soil to help the plant grow. They also store food for the plant. Some roots, like carrots, radishes, and beetroots, can be eaten as food.
Root
The stem is the upright part of the plant. It can be green or brown, thick or thin. The stem carries water and nutrients from the roots to the leaves and takes food made by the leaves to other parts of the plant. It supports the plant's branches, leaves, flowers, and fruits. We eat the stems of some plants, like potatoes and ginger.

Fruits are the fleshy or dry part of a plant that contains seeds. Some fruits we eat include mangoes, apples, grapes, and oranges.
Seeds are the hard part inside a fruit. Most plants grow from seeds. Some seeds we eat are from pomegranates, kiwis, bananas, and grapes.
