Introduction


Time

Time is defined as the ongoing and continuous sequence of events that occurs from past through present to future. Time is used to measure or compare the duration of different events. We can measure time in seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years with the help of clocks and calendars.

Clock

  • The clock helps us to read and measure time. There are 12 numbers written on a clock, from 1 to 12. These numbers refer to the time of the day for 12 hours.
  • It has two hands. The longer hand is known as the minute hand and the shorter hand is known as the hour hand.

Day and Night Time

  • We do many activities during the day. A day is divided into daytime and night time. Day time is from sunrise to sunset and night time is from sunset to sunrise. During the day we do many activities like we go to school, play with friends, eat and study. At night we go to sleep.
  • We use AM to refer any time between 12 midnight to 12 noon and PM to refer any time between 12 noon to 12 midnight.
