- Select the Design tab, then click the Format Background command of the Customize group.
- The Format Background pane will appear on the right. Select the desired fill options. In our example, we’ll use a Solid fill with a light gold color.

- If you want, you can click Apply to All to apply the same background style to all slides in your presentation.

To apply animation to a text follow these steps:
- Select the text on the slide that you want to animate.
- On the Animations tab of the ribbon, click Add Animation, and pick an animation effect.

- Comparison: It consist of a placeholder to add title to the slide as well as placeholders for 2 contents. This layout is usually used for comparison between 2 items. You can also add different type of content as mentioned in Title and Content layout.
- Title Only: This layout contains a placeholder only to add a title at the top. The remaining page is blank and therefore anything may be added.
- Blank: This layout offers a blank slide, where you may add any element at any position according to choice.
- Content with Caption: To insert some text as well as a caption, this layout is used.
- Picture with Caption: To insert a picture as well as a caption, select this slide layout. The slide contains a placeholder for inserting the picture on the right side of the slide as well as placeholders for inserting captions on the left side of the slide.
