Describe the national education policy. How will it be helpful to change our education system?

An individual's personality and character have always been based on their education. The improvement of the fundamental right to education is something that every government strives to achieve through its policies and actions. The reality is that India is still waiting for a miracle as despite so much attention being given to the sector, little has seen the light of the dawn! In this background, the government recently announced the NEP that focuses on transformational reforms in the Indian academic sector and an aim that no child loses any opportunity to learn and excel because of the circumstances of birth or background, NEP-2020 has a target of 100% Gross Enrolment Ratio (GEER), in school education by 2030 by bridging the social gaps in access and participation. The policy has been formulated keeping in mind the findings of a massive survey that had been conducted in November 2017 with an aim to understand how effectively the school system is working in the country.
The policy looks great but there still is a big challenge when it comes to the implementation! There are a lot of positives and negatives that we must analyze and understand. The fact that it promotes learning quality is the main advantage we must note. Does the pupil really understand what is being taught? Approximately 2 crore students will be able to return to school, according to estimates. The new 5+3+3+4 will be attracting a lot of attention. A special module being designed by the NCERT for the children up to the age of 8 will play a vital role in shaping the students in their vital years. The National Book Promotion Policy aims at promoting books for all segments of the society, so that books are available in plenty and they are accessible to people living in different parts, even the remotest corners, of our country. We can keep counting the advantages but the teacher-student ratio, language barriers etc cannot be ignored. And both the benefits and the challenges will need equal attention to make the policy’s success a reality!
