• Kindness is a vital part of a person’s nature, especially in this day and age, where people tend to be more self-centred. There are times when an individual might be helpless and in need of assistance. In such situations, it is always important to show compassion and uplift others. An incident where another person was kind to me was when I was a pre-teenager and a stranger helped me out of a distressing situation. Although I never interacted with this person for a second time, he has remained in my good wishes.
• This incident occurred when I was ten or eleven years old and went shopping with my mother. The place that we visited was a few train stations away from home. It was a particularly busy day, and the station was bustling with people. Amidst the crowd, I got stranded and separated from my mother. I remained at the spot where I lost my mother in the crowd and started to panic. Eventually, a train came into the station, and in a moment of confusion, I boarded the train, thinking my mother had done the same. After travelling a few stations in the wrong direction, I broke down, and the people on board asked me to get off the train after I had told them I was lost.
• After I got off the train, I was in a completely unknown location. Helpless and in fear, I started walking in the direction I came from along the train tracks when this stranger who was also walking in the opposite direction noticed my panicked expression and asked me what was wrong. After hearing my plight, he took me to the railway police station and stayed there till my mother came to pick me up.
• Although that day was one of the worst days of my life, I am forever grateful to that stranger because he is the reason I reunited with my mother after the terrible circumstances I had faced.
