What is data?

Imagine you have a box of colorful toys. Each toy is like a special piece of information. Now, when we gather and collect all these toys together, that's called "data." So, data is like a bunch of toys or information that we collect and use to understand things.

What is Data Handling?

Data handling is like sorting and playing with toys. We collect, count, and organize information, making it easy to understand, just like arranging colorful blocks or grouping toys by color! 🧸              

• Let us see an example to understand better the concept of data collecting.
• Look at the table. This table shows the number of fruits sold in a day by a fruit seller.
  

• From this table, we can easily understand that the seller has 10 apples and 17 mangoes. Data handling is important because it helps us sort and understand information, like counting toys or fruits.
• The information we get from the above data is that Mangoes are sold the most. Apples are sold the least.
• Data handling is about organizing, counting, and showing information in a fun and easy way!

Types of Data

• Numbers: Like counting how many apples are in a basket.

• Words: Like the names of your classmates.

• Pictures: Like drawing smiley faces to show different feelings.
