GATE or the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is a national-level examination held every year. Here are the important details regarding GATE 2022 results:

Note: In case GATE-qualified candidates need the soft copy of their scorecard after 31^st May 2022 and till 31st December 2022, they need to pay Rs. 500 to obtain the same. No scorecards will be issued by GATE authority from 1st January 2023 onwards for GATE 2022 qualified candidates.

Steps to check GATE Result 2022

Candidates must follow the steps given below to check GATE 2022 results:

• Step 1: They should visit the official website of GATE 2022. 
• Step 2: They should click the tab ‘Login’ on the home page and proceed further. 
• Step 3: They need to enter their GATE enrollment ID or email address along with a password. 
• Step 4: Thereafter, students will be redirected to the results page on which qualifying GATE cut-off will be specified along with the marks scored by candidates and their details.

How to calculate GATE score?

After the answers are evaluated, the actual or raw marks scored by the candidate will be considered for calculating the GATE score. In case, the candidate appeared for multi-session subjects, the raw marks secured by him/her in different sessions will be converted to Normalized marks for that particular subject. Thus, raw marks will be used for single session papers and normalized marks for multi-session papers for computing the GATE Score.

Calculation of Normalized Marks (Multi-session Papers)

For multi-session papers, a normalization method is applied to take into account any variation that arises in the difficulty levels of the question papers across different sessions. The normalization is carried out on the fundamental assumption that in all multi-session GATE papers, the distribution of candidates’ abilities is the same across all sessions. This assumption is justified on account of the large number of candidates appearing in multi-session papers in GATE 2022 and the random procedure for allocation of sessions to candidates.Considering various normalization methods and on the basis of the above, the committee arrived at a formula for computing the normalized marks for multi-session papers. Note: After the announcement of results, GATE Scorecards can only be downloaded by the GATE qualified candidates. The GATE 2022 committee is empowered to decide the qualifying score for all the GATE papers. If any candidate has any claim regarding the GATE 2022 score or exam, the Tribunals and Courts in Kolkata alone have exclusive jurisdiction to entertain and settle such matters.
