2. Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students

The Ministry of Human Resources Development's Department of Higher Education is offering a fellowship called the Central Sector Scheme to students from select colleges and universities.

Eligibility Conditions:

  • Candidates who achieve above 80th percentile in their relevant stream of study from their Board of Examination in Class XII. 
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time course. 
  • The family income of the applicants should be less than Rs.6 lakh per annum. 
  • Selected candidates must not be receiving any other scholarship to be eligible for this scholarship.

What is the rate of scholarship under the Scheme?

  • Students enrolled in College and University courses receive a scholarship of Rs. 10000/- per annum for the first three years of their studies, and Rs. 20000/- per annum for postgraduate studies. Those pursuing professional courses are given Rs. 20,000/- per annum for their fourth and fifth year. 
  • A total of 82,000 seats are available for this scholarship.

3. Combined Counseling Board Scholarship for Professional Courses

  • The Combined Counseling Board (CCB) offers a scholarship programme for students from all academic backgrounds, including medicine, known as the Combined Counseling Board Scholarship. 
  • Anyone interested in applying for this scholarship can do so through the CCB's website, as long as they meet the set eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Conditions:

  • Candidates across India who have successfully completed their 10th, 12th, and graduation examinations are eligible to apply for this scholarship. They must have scored at least 33-50% in the last exam. Additionally, a minimum of 40-50% (depending on the course) in class 12 or an equivalent is required. 
  • The scholarship award can reach up to INR 2 lakh. 
  • The Central Council of Bharat has set aside 10-20% of spots in top Indian educational institutions for scholarship recipients.

4. FAEA Scholarship

  • TATA is sponsoring FAEA to provide financial aid to students who wish to pursue undergraduate studies in Arts/Commerce/Science/Engineering and other technical and professional disciplines, in any university/institution/college in India. 
  • The scholarship covers tuition fees, maintenance allowance and hostel and mess charges as per FAEA's regulations.

Eligibility Conditions:

  • Students who have successfully completed their Class XII from a recognized Board of Secondary Education in India or are currently enrolled in the first year of their undergraduate studies are eligible to apply.
  • Scholarships are available for those from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, such as the SC/ST/BPL category. 
  • Special scholarships are available specifically for girls from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds in the BPL category from Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu. 
  • Financial grants are available for general category students who obtained 90% or higher in their Higher Secondary Exam and/or have been accepted into an institution of excellence in the country.

5. VAHANI Scholarship

  • VAHANI Scholarship is a charitable organization that acknowledges the importance of creating opportunities for talented, hard-working and economically disadvantaged children in India. 
  • Financial aid is provided by the organization to those who are living in poverty. A total of 20 applicants are chosen, with an even spread of male and female recipients. 
  • All 12th grade students are eligible to apply for this scholarship program.

7. International Medical Scholarship Eligibility Test (IM-SET)

  • The American University of Barbados (AUB), School of Medicine, offers the IM-SET Scholarship. 
  • To be eligible for this scholarship, Indian medical aspirants must take the International Medical Scholarship Eligibility Test, which can be accessed on the AUB website.

Eligibility Conditions:

  • Students who are currently studying in Class 12 or have completed their Class 12 from Private, Government and Govt.-Aided schools of any medium and any Board in India are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Additionally, those studying in schools outside India affiliated to CBSE Board can also apply. 
  • Students from schools outside India affiliated to CBSE Board only can apply for the scholarship.

Scholarship Amount:

  • The three highest-scoring students who have at least 70% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in class 12 will receive a 100% tuition fee waiver for medical courses. 
  • The next five highest-scoring students with the same marks will receive a 50% tuition fee waiver
  • All IM-SET qualifiers with at least 70% marks in class 12 will receive a 30% scholarship on tuition fees for medical courses.

8. All India Youth Scholarship Entrance Examination (AIYSEE)

  • AIYSEE provides cost-efficient test series that are reasonably priced, allowing students to practice for upcoming exams like NEET and IIT JEE over the course of one year. 
  • This scholarship presents a great opportunity for those in a financial bind who are looking to pursue a career in the medical or engineering fields, as the fees associated with professional colleges can be quite steep.

9. Dr. Abdul Kalam Scholarship for Medical Students

In order to provide monetary aid to students belonging to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) who are appearing for the national-level medical entrance examination, this scholarship program has been launched.

Eligibility Conditions:

  • Successful completion of Class 12 with a minimum score of 55% is mandatory. 
  • To avail the scholarship, aspirants have to attempt a national-level medical entrance test. 
  • Only those whose family income is below INR 6 Lacs are eligible for the scholarship.

Scholarship Amount:

  • Successful applicants will be rewarded with an INR RS. 20,000 scholarship. 
  • Application forms for this program will be available for submission during May and August.

10. Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Minorities  

This scholarship is designed to help members of the minority community who are in need of financial support. It aims to provide financial assistance to those who are economically disadvantaged.

Eligibility Conditions:

  • The candidate must be a resident of West Bengal and studying between 11th grade to post-graduation level. 
  • The annual family income should be less than 2.5 lakhs Indian Rupees.

Scholarship Amount:

  • Each candidate will be awarded an amount ranging from INR 12,000 to 60,000 each year as a scholarship. 
  • The online application process for the scholarship scheme will start in the months of September and November.
