In the past few years, IIM Kozhikode has implemented significant changes in its admission criteria. For the upcoming PGP 2023-25 batch admission, it is anticipated that CAT 2022 score will be given 45% weightage, while academics and diversity will be given a high 50% weightage for shortlisting candidates for the final selection round. Although last year's admission process did not include a Writing Assessment Test (WAT), this year it is possible that a WAT will be conducted alongside the Personal Interview in physical mode. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic last year, IIMK conducted the Personal Interview online. The flagship programme offered by IIM Kozhikode is the 2-year full-time residential Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), for which CAT score is used as a shortlisting criterion. IIM Kozhikode has reduced the weightage for CAT score to 45% in recent years, compared to the previous weightage of 75%.

Till 2017, IIM Kozhikode awarded weightage to bachelor’s degree marks but the same has been discontinued now. A new component ‘Resume’ is added to the final selection round components.

IIM Kozhikode Eligibility criteria 2023

• IIM  Kozhikode Eligibility criteria require that the candidate must hold a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration after class 12, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category, the eligibility criterion is relaxed to 45%
• IIM Kozhikode Admission Eligibility criterion requires the applicant to appear in CAT 2022 exam and must score minimum prescribed sectional and overall percentile score to become eligible for next stage of shortlisting
• If the candidate is awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the equivalence to determine PGP admission eligibility would be based on the equivalence certified by the institution/university from where the bachelor's degree is obtained. In case the institution/university does not have any scheme for converting the CGPA into equivalent marks, the equivalence would be established by IIM Kozhikode by dividing the obtained CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the resultant by 100 to confirm the Admission eligibility of the candidate. 
• A candidate appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results is also eligible to apply for IIM Kozhikode Admission 2023. Such a candidate must produce a certificate from the principal/head of the department/ registrar/director of the institution/university certifying that the candidate is currently in the final year or is awaiting final results and has obtained at least 50% marks or equivalent (45% in case of the candidate belonging to SC/ST/PwD category) based on latest available grades/marks.
• IIM Kozhikode Eligibility further clarifies that such a candidate, if selected, will be eligible for the IIM Indore admission only if he/she submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2023 from the principal/head of the department/registrar/director of the institution/university (issued on or before June 30, 2023) stating that they have completed all the requirements (the result may, however, be awaited) for obtaining the bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
• It is mandatory for a final year student, who is provisionally considered eligible by IIM Kozhikode and offered admission, to submit the mark-sheet and degree certificate of the final year bachelor's degree examination held on or before June 30, 2023.  The deadline to submit the mark-sheet and the certificate is December 31, 2023.

IIM Kozhikode Cut off for CAT Exam

IIM Kozhikode Cut off 2023 clarify that the candidates above the minimum cut-offs in the CAT 2022 sectional percentile ranks, the overall percentile rank and obtaining a positive (greater than zero) raw score in all sections of CAT-2022 will be considered for all the subsequent stages.

IIM Kozhikode Cut off for Academics
Candidates should have secured following minimum score in class X and XII to be considered for shortlisting by IIM Kozhikode. The percentage of marks obtained in Class X and Class XII would be calculated based on the aggregate marks of all subjects that appear in the marks sheet or grade sheet, irrespective of whether the Board considers them for calculation of percentage.

Stage-1: IIM Kozhikode Shortlisting Criteria
IIM  Kozhikode will shortlist the candidates on the basis of CAT 2022 score, past academic performance, and other criteria as under:

• The shortlisting for final selection round in IIM Kozhikode Admission Criteria awards 45% weight to CAT 2022 score, 25% weight to Class X marks, 15% weight to class XII score, 10% to Diversity and 5% to Work Experience
• The candidate must have scored minimum sectional percentile of 75 in each of the three sections of CAT 2022 – Quantitative Aptitude' (QA), ‘Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning' (DILR) and ‘Verbal and Reading Comprehension' (VRC)
• A candidate must have scored minimum overall percentile of 85 in CAT 2022
• If the candidate does not score minimum prescribed percentile in CAT 2022, he/she will not be considered for shortlisting for final selection stage.
• No Weightage will be awarded for Bachelor’s degree marks.
• Academic/Gender Diversity will be awarded 10 points out of 100 in the IIM Kozhikode shortlisting criteria for final admission round.
• All the Candidates shortlisted for PI will have to attend the PI round, failing which they will be not be considered for the final admission

IIM Kozhikode Shortlisting Weightage

• IIM Kozhikode will shortlist the candidates for WAT & PI stage on the basis of  five parametres for admission 2023. These are CAT 2022 score, academic scores of class X and XII, Academic & Gender diversity and work experience.
• A shortlist of candidates in each category will be created based on an Aggregate Index Score (AIS). The AIS is computed based on the performance in CAT 2022, Class X and XII marks, diversity and work experience. The weight of each component in the AIS is as follows:

Action Points for Applicants On Release of IIMK Shortlist 2023

After release of Shortlists in stages, IIM Kozhikode sends emails to the shortlisted candidates asking them to fill up their details online. In case you are shortlisted, make sure that you fill up your details on the link provided without fail or else you will not be considered for further shortlisting process. Please note this shortlist is not a PI shortlist. The actual interview shortlist is released according to email sent to shortlisted students. IIM Kozhikode Shortlist window remains open for a limited period of about a week. Candidates need to follow the steps given below to apply.

IIM Kozhikode Admission 2023: Step by Step Process

Following steps are included in the IIM Kozhikode Admission process:

• Step 1: The candidate must have appeared and scored the minimum required sectional and overall percentile in CAT 2022 and minimum academic score to be considered for first stage screening process for admission at IIM Kozhikode
• Step 2: Candidates are short-listed for Personal Interview (PI) round from among the candidates who have a valid CAT-2022 score, who have applied to the programme and who satisfy the eligibility criteria for the programme of IIM Kozhikode. The PI round will be conducted at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai and New Delhi.
• Step 3: Shortlisted Candidates have to attend PI round in final selection process. IIM Kozhikode also expects a consistent and minimum performance in the different parameters of Personal Interview (PI) round. Candidates not meeting the minimum performance in any of PI parameters will not be considered for the final selection.
• Step 4: After the PI round, admission offers are made by IIM Kozhikode to successful candidates. The final selection is based on performance in CAT, performance in PI, WAT, academics, among others. Category wise merit list will be generated based on Final Score
• Step 5: Final Admission Offer will be made to the candidates in the last week of April 2023 on the basis of Final Score arrived after awarding the weightage scores on all the components.

IIM Kozhikode Admission 2024

• Many aspiring students who are currently in their second or third year of their bachelor’s degree course wish to pursue an MBA from IIM Kozhikode by appearing in CAT. However, they are not eligible for IIM Kozhikode admission this year and must wait until CAT 2023 to apply for admission in 2024. The admission policy of IIM Kozhikode has remained unchanged for the past 2-3 years, and it is expected to remain the same next year as well. Therefore, it is recommended that these students begin their CAT preparation now so that they can complete a significant part of their exam preparation by the time they become eligible for CAT 2023. This will increase their chances of scoring well on the exam and securing IIM Kozhikode admission in 2024.
