Hanuman's devotion and selflessness towards Lord Rama were both noble and sacred. Lord Rama gave Hanuman a signet ring to present to Sita when he found her. Hanuman placed the ring on his head as a mark of respect and promised to bring back good news. Lord Rama appointed Hanuman as the head of the monkey army, relying on his strength, courage, speed, and power to locate Sita.
Hanuman and Angada were tasked to search the dreaded south while other monkeys were dispatched in different directions. Despite their eagerness and exhaustive efforts searching lakes, rivers, mountains, hills, and forests, they couldn't find Sita. Hanuman's words of encouragement motivated the monkeys to continue their search.
After a month of searching, the monkeys became fearful of returning empty-handed. They contemplated fasting and dying by the sacred ocean rather than facing punishment from their king, Sugriva. Their distress caught the attention of Sampati, the king of vultures, who saw an opportunity to feed his family.
Hanuman learned about Jedi's sacrifice to save Sita and sought Sampati's help to find the rakshasa's whereabouts. Sampati revealed that Sita was carried by Ravana, the king of Lanka, located in the middle of the ocean. The immense ocean posed a challenge, but Jambavan, a wise bear, reminded Hanuman of his unique abilities.
Recognizing his strength and powers, Hanuman promised to find Sita without resting. On his way, the gods sent Surasa, who intended to devour him. Hanuman outsmarted her by growing larger and then shrinking to a tiny size, entering and exiting her mouth swiftly. Surasa acknowledged his valor and blessed him.
Semhika, who could capture prey by its shadow, tried to hinder Hanuman's progress. She held him by his shadow, but Hanuman, with his foresight and courage, grew inside Semhika and exploded, emerging unhurt. Hanuman's journey was filled with physical, intellectual, and spiritual challenges that he successfully overcame.
Hanuman's story teaches us the power of devotion, selflessness, courage, and determination. With unwavering faith in his abilities and love for his lord, Hanuman overcame numerous obstacles to fulfill his mission. The story highlights the importance of staying committed, believing in oneself, and utilizing one's unique strengths to overcome challenges and achieve success.
