But I also saw some tragic scene. It shocked me so much that I jumped out of bed. I heard a knock on the main gate. I switched on the light. It was about 12:15 midnight. Every day was sleeping. My parents were sleeping in the other bedroom. They did not hear the knock. I was terror-stricken.
I took courage. I stepped into my flip-flops. Rolling’s my eyes. I came out the porch. I switched on the light and went to the gate. There was a man at the gate. I asked him who he was. He told me that he was Aman, my father's cousin. I did not know him.
He was shivering with cold and terror. I went inside and asked my father about him. My father got up at once. He ran towards the gate. He opened the gate and recognizing him at once hugged him. Both of them were weeping out of sheer joy.
My mother made tea for all of us. My dad was very happy to see Aman Uncle. He told us that he had been going to Amritsar but his train met with an accident near Panipat. So, he took the lift in a jeep and reached Karnal. We thanked God for saving him.

But everything was now gone. There was a strangeness over the whole place. Everything was in a decayed and decaying condition. Life had come to a standstill. The place presented a strange and eerie silence. The old decaying wooden bench revealed its struggle with the onslaughts of time. The small tree could have grown into a big and sprawling tree. The doors had stopped giving a clinking and jarring sound when opened. They had jammed and couldn't be opened. Now the whole area had become a place like that / frequented by the ghosts and supernatural agencies. Really, the old building gave out a message: Anything that is, can't remain the same.
