Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-L1

Context
Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya-spearhead India’s Amrit Kaal development path over the next 25 years, according to the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology.

About Aditya-L1 mission

• The Aditya-L1 mission is launched by the PSLV-C57.
• The spacecraft will be positioned in a halo orbit around the Sun-Earth system’s Lagrange point 1 (L1) for India’s solar mission. 
  • The Largerange point is a location in space where heightened zones of attraction and repulsion are produced by the gravitational forces of a two-body system, such as the Sun and Earth.
• The first space-based Indian mission to study the Sun will be Aditya L1.

About Chandrayaan-3 mission

• Chandrayaan-3 is a follow-up mission to Chandrayaan-2 that aims to show off end-to-end capabilities for safe landing and wandering on the lunar surface. It is configured with Landers and Rovers. 
• The lander and rover combination will be propelled by the propulsion module up to a 100 kilometer lunar orbit. 
• To examine the spectral and Polarimetric data of Earth from the lunar orbit, the propulsion module is equipped with the Spectro-Polarimetry of Habitable Planet Earth (SHAPE) payload.
• Objectives: There are three goals for the mission. 
  • To show off the lunar soft-landing capability. 
  • To show off the moon-mobility of the Vikram rover. 
  • To carry out in-situ research projects.

Men’s Hockey 5s Asia Cup

Context
The Indian Prime Minister recently congratulated the Indian Men’s Hockey team on their victory in the Men’s Hockey 5s Asia Cup. 

About Men’s Hockey 5s Asia Cup

• The International Hockey Federation (FIH) is in charge of organizing the Hockey 5s World Cup, an international hockey competition.
• Hockey 5s is a lightning-fast, extremely skilled, brief hockey style that was developed in advance of the 2014 Youth Olympic Games. It is intended to be adaptable to various surfaces, locations, and spaces.
• Men’s and women’s national Hockey 5s teams compete in a quadrennial global tournament.
• In Muscat, Oman, there will be competitions for the Hockey 5s World Cup in 2024.
