In this chapter, we'll learn about a girl named Mallika and how she learned to manage her time effectively with the help of her grandmother.
Mallika was a girl who had many interests and hobbies. She loved to dance, sing in the school choir, and attend Hindi tuition. On top of that, she enjoyed playing with friends, watching television, and playing on the computer. Her days felt too short because she wanted to do so many things.
Mallika often got scolded by her teacher and mother because she missed important activities like homework, dance practice, Hindi tuition, and even her music class. Sometimes she was so busy playing with friends that she forgot her Hindi tuition.
One day, Mallika's grandmother came to visit her. Mallika loved her grandmother and asked for help because she felt she didn't have enough time to do everything she wanted.
Mallika's grandmother helped her by making a list of all the things Mallika liked to do. They divided this list into three parts: things that were very important and had to be done every day, things for the weekends, and things to do when she was bored.
With the three lists in mind, Mallika and her grandmother made a timetable, just like the one she had at school. They scheduled different activities for different times, helping Mallika plan her day effectively.
After following her timetable for a week, Mallika felt very happy and satisfied. Nobody scolded her, and everyone was pleased with her because she was managing her time well.
In the chapter, we also learned about the importance of doing certain things on time, like getting ready for school. We discussed what we can do the night before to help plan our time. If we ever wake up late, we should use our time wisely. We also learned how to balance our time when we have many activities to do.
We even imagined what we would do with 25 extra hours if a fairy gave us that gift. We can allocate those hours for sleep, school, playing, and fun activities.
The chapter also introduced a Wheel of Time chart where we can fill in our daily activities using different colors. We can decide how many hours we sleep, play, study at school, and what we'd like to do in our spare time.
So, by managing our time wisely and creating timetables like Mallika, we can do more things and make everyone around us happy and proud of our efforts.
