Haryana at the International Level

London Olympics, 2012

The State Government is actively enhancing sports engagement through various initiatives, including funding sports associations, organizing training programs, establishing wrestling and yoga centers, constructing sports stadiums and rural sports centers, implementing sports talent identification programs, hosting sports events, setting up sports hostels, developing sports fields, and providing State Sports Awards Training.

  • Chaudhary Charan Singh Agricultural University in Hisar has installed a synthetic track, while Nehru Stadium in Gurugram now boasts a hockey-astro turf.
  • Regular events such as wrestling competitions at the district level, District Arena contests, and District Kumar/Kesari Dangal are a part of the state's sports calendar.
  • A significant step involves the reservation of 3% of Group C and D government jobs for individuals who have won medals in international sports or reached the international level in sports.
