100 bedded Yoga & Naturopathy Hospital to come up in Dibrugarh, a first in North East India

Context

  • The Union Minister of Ayush, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, and Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, laid the foundation stone for the Central Research Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy (CRIYN) and a 100-bedded Yoga & Naturopathy hospital in Dibrugarh.
  • The project, developed over 15 acres with an investment of ₹100 crores, aims to blend traditional knowledge of Yoga and Naturopathy with modern technology, setting benchmarks in education, preventive healthcare, and research.

Objectives and Scope of CRIYN:

  • The institute seeks to establish scientific validation of traditional systems of medicine through evidence-based research.
  • It will serve as an international collaboration centre for global promotion and research in Yoga and Naturopathy, fostering innovation and incubation in startups within the yoga and wellness sector.

Focus on Education, Research, and Patient Care:

  • CRIYN will focus on providing clinical training facilities for Yoga and Naturopathy experts, particularly in areas such as cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes rehabilitation, autoimmune diseases, and non-communicable disease (NCD) risk reduction.
  • The hospital will offer inpatient services with specific Yoga and naturopathy protocols to enhance the quality of life for patients, promoting an integrated medicine approach to patient care.
