The RRB NTPC Selection Process for the year 2024 involves several stages that candidates need to successfully navigate in order to be considered for recruitment. The process includes:

• 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT): This initial stage evaluates candidates on fundamental knowledge and aptitude.

RRB NTPC Stage-1 Exam Pattern 2024

• The 1st Stage of Computer Based Test (CBT) serves as a screening process, and the questions' standard will align with the educational criteria set for the respective positions.
• For candidates with disabilities (PWD), the exam duration is 120 minutes.
• There is a provision for negative marking, with a deduction of 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer.
• The total number of shortlisted candidates will be 20 times the community-wise vacancies of the posts as per the merit in the 1st Stage CBT and the choice of posts.
• The normalized score obtained in the 1st Stage CBT will be instrumental in shortlisting candidates for the 2nd Stage CBT based on merit.

Minimum Percentage of Marks for Eligibility in Various Categories:

• UR: 40%
• EWS: 40%
• OBC (Non-creamy layer): 30%
• SC: 30%
• ST: 25%

Note:

These percentage requirements for eligibility may experience a 2% relaxation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) if there is a shortage of PwBD candidates against the reserved vacancies.

  • OBC(NCL)/SC/ST/EWS, PwBD, and ExSM candidates shall be considered only against their respective categories throughout the recruitment process.

RRB NTPC Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) 2024

(Only for candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master)

• Qualifying Marks: Candidates must achieve a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify.
• Universal Requirement: This criterion is applicable to all candidates, regardless of community or category, with no exceptions in the minimum T-Score allowed.
• Test Batteries: Candidates need to pass each of the test batteries of CBAT to be considered for the positions of Station Master (SM) or Traffic Assistant (TA).
• Linguistic Options: Questions and answer choices in CBAT will be available only in English and Hindi.
• Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking in the CBAT examination.
• Merit List Criteria: The merit list will consist only of candidates who qualify in the CBAT, with 70% weightage given to marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage for marks obtained in the CBAT.
