Second Phase

Candidates who qualify the written examination (first phase) will proceed to the second selection phase at various recruitment centers designated by HQ DG BSF. This phase will be of a qualifying nature. The stages of the second selection phase examination are as follows:

Physical Measurement

The shortlisted candidates will be allowed to appear for the physical measurement test. Candidates will be screened, and only those who satisfy the minimum physical standards, i.e., height and chest (chest applicable for only male candidates), will be allowed to appear in the next test.   • Physical Measurements:
    • GEN/OBC/SC/EWS Categories: 77 Cms (Un-expanded), 82 Cms (Expanded)

  • Note: Weight will be decided based on height and age according to medical standards for both males and females.
  • Shorthand Test: Candidates eligible in physical measurement will proceed to the Stenography speed test. In this test, candidates must transcribe the given matter within a specific time frame based on their language choice, either 'English' or 'Hindi'.
  • Passing Criteria: Candidates making mistakes up to 10% (80 words) will pass, while those exceeding this threshold will fail.
  • Documentation: Candidates must carry all original documents during the documentation process, including age proof, educational qualifications, caste certificates, and other necessary testimonials.
  • Medical Examination: Successful candidates will undergo a Detailed Medical Examination (DME) after completing the Stenography test. The DME will take place at specified locations.
