All India Category Wise Merit List and Shortlisting Process

• All India category-wise merit list for Stage-I will be prepared based on the marks obtained in Stage-I (CGCAT) of the CGCAT examination and date of birth (DOB). If there is a tie in merit with the last shortlisted candidate, all candidates with the same marks will proceed to stage II (PSB).
• The Indian Coast Guard reserves the right to set qualifying marks in any or all subjects of the examination for the shortlisting of candidates for stage-II (PSB).

Stage 2: Preliminary Selection Board

• Following the performance in Stage-I, candidates will be selected to appear in Stage-II (PSB), which will take place for a day at centers in Noida, Mumbai/Goa, Chennai, and Kolkata. Candidates must indicate their preferred PSB center while completing the application form.
• The screening process will involve a Computerised Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and Picture Perception & Discussion (PP&DT).
• The CCBT will be conducted exclusively in English and will consist of objective-type questions. During PP&DT, candidates are expected to communicate and discuss in English, although they are permitted to use Hindi if they prefer. It is important to note that the Stage-II examination is solely for qualification purposes, i.e., candidates will either pass or fail.
