History

• Sangareddy (formerly known as Sangareddy peta) serves as the administrative center of Sangareddy district in the Indian state of Telangana. The town derives its name from Sanga, the son of Rani Shankaramba, the ruler of Medak during the Nizam era.
• Sangareddy District was established as a separate entity from Medak district in line with Government Order G.O.M.S 239 dated 11-10-2016 issued by the Government of Telangana.

Religious Tourism

• Jharasangam: It is a well-known temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated 16 km away from Zaheerabad. This temple is also referred to as "Dakshina Kashi."
  
• Bonthapally: Located 42 km from Sangareddy, this temple, dedicated to Veerabhadra Swamy, was constructed during the Veerashivaya era. The temple was constructed during the Veerashivaya era.
• Beeramguda: This famous temple, also known as the second Srishilam, was established in the 13th century. It is located 30 km from Sangareddy in the Patancheru mandal. Celebrations lasting five days take place here during Shivaratri.
• Trikutalayam: Trikutalayam, a renowned temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, was constructed by the Kakatiyas in the 11th century.
