For individuals aspiring to pursue a teaching career in Punjab, the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) is a crucial state-level examination. Below are the key details for PSTET 2024:

  • Eligibility Criteria

    • Candidates must hold a senior secondary (10+2) certificate or its equivalent.
    • Additionally, candidates must possess a two-year diploma in elementary education or a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) for teaching at the primary level (classes I to V).
  • Validity of TET Certificates

Starting from 2011, the government has extended the validity of Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) qualifying certificates to a lifetime, moving away from the previous 7-year limit.

  • PSTET 2024 Cutoff Marks

Expected cutoff for PSTET 2024 is 90 marks for general candidates and 82 marks for candidates from other categories.

Cutoff marks are influenced by factors such as the paper's difficulty level, average candidate performance, number of vacancies, candidate categories, and total number of exam applicants.

Factors like higher difficulty and lower average performance tend to decrease the cutoff, while more vacancies, specific candidate categories, and increased competition lead to fluctuations in cutoff scores.

  • Opportunities and Examination Details

PSTET 2024 provides candidates with the chance to qualify and become eligible for teaching positions in Punjab's government schools at various levels.

The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) conducts PSTET once a year. Candidates are advised to verify all exam-related details before applying.

  • Full Form and Significance

PSTET stands for Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test. It is a mandatory state-level exam for individuals looking to embark on a teaching career in Punjab.
