Over 73,000 applications received on Suvidha Portal since the announcement of General Elections 2024; more than 44,600 requests approved

Overview of Suvidha Portal Activity:

• Since the announcement of General Elections 2024, the Suvidha Portal has witnessed an overwhelming response, receiving over 73,000 applications from political parties and candidates within just 20 days.
• Out of these applications, more than 44,600 requests have been approved, demonstrating the efficiency and effectiveness of the platform in managing election-related permissions.

Application Distribution and Processing:

• Maximum requests were received from Tamil Nadu, followed by West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh, while states like Chandigarh, Lakshadweep, and Manipur received comparatively fewer requests.
• The Suvidha Portal follows the First in First out principle to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all parties and candidates during the election period.
• Permission requests cover a wide range of activities such as organizing rallies, setting up temporary party offices, canvassing, deploying video vans and helicopters, obtaining vehicle permits, and distributing pamphlets.
