Both Russia and Ukraine are nuclear powers, although Ukraine has surrendered its nuclear arsenal. And any modern war has the potential threat of turning into a nuclear war, which if it breaks out will unleash so much of destruction that there will be no winners or losers. Even the countries that are not involved in the conflict will have to bear the brunt – death and destruction due to radiation. Collapse of economy, agriculture, trade, education and travel will follow. The number of widows, orphans, POWs, the poor, the maimed and other war victims will grow exponentially. And the earth atmosphere will be damaged beyond repair. The world cannot afford even a single day's war anywhere on the earth.
