Brahmagupta Biography

• Brahmagupta, the son of Jishnugupta, grew up in Gurjaradesha, an ancient region in eastern Rajasthan and northern Gujarat. His understanding of number systems was advanced for his time.
• His notable work, Brahmasphutasiddhanta ("Corrected Treatise of Brahma"), included critiques of other mathematicians' work and presented many mathematical concepts in poetic form. This book contained numerous arithmetic rules that have become integral to modern mathematics.
• In addition to this, Brahmagupta authored the Khandakhadyaka in 665 CE, focusing on mathematics and astronomy. At 67 years old, he also proposed that the Earth and the universe are spherical, rather than flat. Brahmagupta was the first to use mathematics to predict planetary positions and eclipse timings and developed a method for solving quadratic equations.

Prithvi Raj Chauhan's Rule

• Early Reign: At the age of 11 in 1179 CE, Prithvi Raj Chauhan assumed the throne in Delhi, becoming the final emperor of the Chauhan dynasty in Delhi. He administered his rule from Delhi and Ajmer, serving as dual capitals.
• Resistance Against Invasions: Prithvi Raj Chauhan united Rajput soldiers to resist and combat Muslim invasions, showcasing his leadership and military prowess.
• Legacy and Depictions: Following his demise, Prithvi Raj Chauhan was often depicted as a formidable Hindu ruler who successfully defended against Muslim incursions for a prolonged period. He symbolizes Indian strength before the advent of Islamic dominance in medieval India.

Bhairon Singh Shekhawat

• Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, a prominent figure in Indian politics, hailed from Khachariawas in Jaipur, born on October 23, 1923. He held the position of Chief Minister of Rajasthan three times - from 1977 to 1980, 1990 to 1992, and 1993 to 1998. Following his loss in the Presidential election to Pratibha Patil, he resigned. Shekhawat was also a former member of parliament and the head of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
• Shekhawat initiated the "Any Day Yojana" program, aimed at aiding the most impoverished sections of society. He exhibited strong administrative and policing skills, garnering respect as a seasoned leader dedicated to public service. Recognized for his remarkable accomplishments, he was awarded honorary D.Litt. degrees from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidya Peeth, Varanasi, and Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur.

Muhnot Nainsi

• Muhnot Nainsi (1610-1670) is renowned for his studies on the region that constitutes present-day Rajasthan, India. His works include "Marwar Ra Pargana Ri Vigat" and "Naini Ri Khyat."
• Under Jaswant Singh's administration, Nainsi served as the Dewan of Marwar. He was the son of Jaimal Muhnot, a significant official during the reigns of Raja Sur Singh and Maharaja Gaj Singh.
