Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award

• The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award, now renamed as the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, is India's highest honor for sporting achievements. The term "Khel Ratna" translates to "Sports Gem" in Hindi. It was originally named after the late Rajiv Gandhi, a former Prime Minister of India.
• This award was established in the year 1991-1992 and is presented by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
• The prize money for this award has been increased from ₹7.5 lakh to ₹25 lakh.
• The first recipient of the award in 1991-92 was Viswanathan Anand (Chess).
• In 2020, the award was given to Rohit Sharma (Cricket), Vinesh Phogat (Wrestling), Rani Rampal (Hockey), Manika Batra (Table Tennis), and Mariyappan Thangavelu (Para-athlete).

Arjuna Award

The Arjuna Awards were established in 1961 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, to recognize outstanding achievements in national sports. The award includes a cash prize of ₹15 lakh, a bronze statuette of Arjuna, and a scroll of honor.
Since 2001, the award has been given only in disciplines under the following categories:

• Olympic Games
• Asian Games
• Commonwealth Games
• World Cup
• World Championship Disciplines and Cricket
• Indigenous Games
• Sports for the physically challenged

Dronacharya Award

The Dronacharya Award is presented by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, for excellence in sports coaching. The award consists of a bronze statuette of Dronacharya, a scroll of honor, and a cash prize of ₹10 lakh. It was established in 1985.

Dhyan Chand Award

• The Dhyan Chand Award is India's highest award for lifetime achievement in sports and games, named after the legendary Indian hockey player Dhyan Chand. This award was instituted in 2002 and includes a cash prize of ₹10 lakh.
• In 2020, the recipients of the Dhyan Chand Award included Kuldeep Singh Bhullar (Athletics), Jincy Philips (Athletics), Pradeep Shrikrishna Gandhe (Badminton), Trupti Murgunde (Badminton), N Usha (Boxing), Lalchand Singh (Boxing), Sukhwinder Singh Sandhu (Football), Ajit Pal Singh (Hockey), Manpreet Singh (Kabaddi), J Ranjith Kumar (Para Athletics), Satyaprakash Tiwari (Para Badminton), Manjeet Singh (Rowing), Sachin Nag (Swimming), Nandan P Bal (Tennis), and Netrapal Hooda (Wrestling).
