Read the Passage and answer the question that follow (Question 31 to 35)
Offering an intensely evocative and aptly titled narrative, ‘Dancing with Death’ both guides and inspires armchair adventurers as well as venturesome travellers to the jungles, seas, people and cultures of the world’s “roads” less travelled within the beautiful panoramas of Latin America. Co-authored by co-adventurers Jean-Philippe Soule and Luke Shullenbcrgcr, this dynamic read memorializes not only their experiences during their expansive sea kayaking journey but also serves to help bring awareness to the cultures and histories of the seldom seen or noted native people they encountered.
From the start, the story treats the mind to the emotions and visages entwined in this thrilling narrative, which memorializes the unforgettable and awe-inspiring expedition by sea touted as a one-of-a-kind undertaking. Author, guide, and adventurer Jean-Philippe Soule, accompanied by fellow adventurer and able friend Luke Shullenbcrgcr, find themselves and their kayaks sorely tested by weather, tides, and their bodies as they paddle thousands of miles, braving often life-threatening conditions including near drowning, malaria, shark attacks, crocodiles, guerrillas, armed bandits and corruption during their one-of-a-kind undertaking. The overall journey, spanning three years, 3000 miles and seven countries, included Baja, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. The expedition, fully titled as the Central America Sea Kayaking Expedition 2000 but also known as the CASKE2000, was a quest intended as an effort to connect with, learn about, and preserve in writing the history of the self-reliant indigenous people and their respect for and relationship with the earth.
Overall, the book provides an absorbing view of life for the two sea-bound kayakers. Readers are made privy to the challenges, successes, and failures of their journey supplied via their intimate thoughts and experiences through the inclusion of their alternating journal entries, which I found did well to enhance the read by providing deep insight and focus to emotions with differing perspectives concerning the elements of planning, preparation, and embarking on the expedition.
Altogether, I did enjoy reading Dancing with Death. The book was easy to engage with and well organized. I found the narrative an intelligently composed chronicle and compelling read that riled the senses with descriptive exposition and well-organized literate visions of superhuman determination, extreme travelling adventure, fraught kayaking adventure, spine-tingling moments, exotic environments and, intriguing people and cultures.
I also enjoyed their close-up encounters with wildlife, which made for particularly exciting reading, especially the section on playing hide and seek with giant sea turtles. Additionally, aside from portraying a phenomenal travel super-adventure, included in the book are some of the most stunning photos that I have seen, as well as the additional perk of a fantastically organized website where you get to experience even more details of their journey. However, the very best aspect of the book is its inspirational tone. The authors, although faced with the adversity and danger of their expedition, did not quit. They simply followed their dreams, which is a must I think, for all travellers. I definitely and heartily recommend this for fans of travel books.

Read the Passage and answer the question that follow (Question 36 to 40)
Consider every thought you have as a suggestion, not an order. Right now, my mind is suggesting that I feel tired. It is suggesting that I give up. It is suggesting that I take an easier path.
If I pause for a moment, however, I can discover new suggestions. My mind is also suggesting that I will feel very good about accomplishing this work once it is done. It is suggesting that I will respect the identity I am building when I stick to the schedule. It is suggesting that I have the ability to finish this task, even when I don’t feel like it.
Remember, none of these suggestions are orders. They are merely options. I have the power to choose which option I follow.
Relative to the time in your normal day or week, nearly any habit you perform is over quickly. Your workout will be finished in an hour or two. Your report will be typed to completion by tomorrow morning. This article will be finished in just a moment.
Life is easier now than it has ever been. 300 years ago, if you didn’t kill your own food and build your own house, you would die. Today, we whine about forgetting our phone charger.
Maintain perspective. Your life is good, and your discomfort is temporary. Step into this moment of discomfort and let it strengthen you.
Theodore Roosevelt famously said, “Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.” So often, it seems that we want to work easily at something worth doing. We want our work to be helpful and respected, but we do not want to struggle through it. We want our stomachs to be flat and our arms to be strong, but we do not want to grind through another workout. We want the final result, but not the failed attempts that preceded it. We want the gold, but not the grind.
Anyone can want a gold medal. Few people want to train like an Olympian.
And yet, despite our resistance to it, I have never found myself feeling worse after the hard work was done. There have been days when it was so hard to start, but it was always worth finishing. Sometimes, the simple act of showing up and having the courage to do the work, even in an average manner, is a victory worth celebrating.
Life is a constant balance between giving into the ease of distraction and overcoming the pain of discipline. It is not an exaggeration to say that our lives and identities arc defined by this delicate balance. What is life if not the sum of a hundred thousand daily battles and tiny decisions to either gut it out or give it up?
The moment when you don’t feel like doing the work is not a moment to be thrown away. This is not a dress rehearsal. This moment is your life as much as any other moment. Spend it in a way that will make you proud.
