Ans: If Kavita joined on 3rd May, counting back 35 days:
Days in April: 30 days 
Remaining days to subtract: 35 − 30 = 5 days in March. 
Kavita went on leave on 29th March.

Q2: On Monday the temperature was 39.5 degree Celsius. On next day it decreased by 4.5 degree Celsius. What was the temperature on next day?
Ans: Temperature on Monday = 39.5°C 
Decrease = 4.5°C 
Temperature on Tuesday = 39.5 − 4.5 = 35.0 ° C.

Q3: What time will it be: 3 hours 25 minutes before 5:00 pm?
Ans: Time = 5:00 pm 
Subtract 3 hours 25 minutes:
Subtract 25 minutes: 5 : 00 pm − 25 minutes = 4 : 35 pm
Subtract 3 hours: 4 : 35 pm − 3 hours = 1 : 35 pm.

Q4: The temperature of water kept for boiling has reached 98 degree C. How much degrees more does it need to reach to start boiling?
Ans: The boiling point of water is 100°C. 
Temperature difference = 100 − 98 = 2 °C.

Q5: Kinshuk started reading a novel on 25th January. It tool 16 days to complete it. When did he finished the novel?
Ans: Start date: 25th January 
Adding 16 days: 
Days in January remaining = 31 − 25 = 6.
Remaining days to add = 16 − 6 = 10 days in February. 
Kinshuk finished the novel on 10th February.

Q6: The winter carnival of the school is on 5 Feb. If students started preparation 35 days before, on which date did the preparation begins?
Ans: Event date: 5th February 
Counting back 35 days: 
Days in January: 31 days 
Remaining days to subtract: 35 − 31 = 4. 
Preparation began on 27th December of the previous year.
 
Q7: Chaya was suffering from fever and his body temperature was above 2.4 degree Celsius from the normal body temperature. What was the body temperature during his illness?
Ans: The normal body temperature is 37°C. 
Body temperature during illness = 37 + 2.4 = 39.4 °C.

Q8: The maximum temperature of Noida on last Monday was 37.2 degree C while the minimum temperature was 15.4 degree C. What was the difference in temperature?
Ans: Difference in temperature = 37.2 − 15.4 = 21.8 °C.

Q9: What time will it be: 4 hours 10 minutes before 8:30 am?
Ans: Time = 8:30 am 
Subtract 10 minutes: 8 : 30 − 10 minutes = 8 : 20 am
Subtract 4 hours: 8 : 20 am − 4 hours = 4 : 20 am.

Q10: What time will it be: 3 hours 5 minutes after midnight?
Ans: Time = 12:00 am (midnight) 
Add 5 minutes: 12 : 00 + 5 minutes = 12 : 05 am. 
Add 3 hours: 12 : 05 + 3 hours = 3 : 05 am.
