Introduction

A relation by blood refers to a connection between individuals that is established through familial ties, as opposed to legal or social bonds such as marriage. This type of relationship is inherent and based on shared genetic heritage. 

For example:
1.. child is related to their parents by blood, as they share genetic material inherited from them. 
2. Siblings are related by blood as they share the same biological parents. 

 Blood relations form the foundation of family structures and lineage, and they are often recognized legally in matters such as inheritance and custody. 

Blood Relations: Paternal Side

1. Paternal Grandparents:

  •  Father’s father is called Grandfather
  •  Father’s mother is called Grandmother

2. Paternal Uncle and Aunt:

  •  Father’s brother is called Uncle
  •  Father’s sister is called Aunt

3. Cousins:

  •  Children of your uncle are your Cousins
  •  Wife of your uncle is your Aunt
  •  Children of your aunt are also your Cousins
  •  Husband of your aunt is your Uncle

Blood Relations: Maternal Side

1. Maternal Grandparents:

  •  Mother’s father is called Maternal Grandfather
  •  Mother’s mother is called Maternal Grandmother.

2. Maternal Uncle and Aunt:

  •  Mother’s brother is called Maternal Uncle
  •  Mother’s sister is called Aunt

3. Maternal Cousins:

  •  Children of your maternal uncle are your Cousins
  •  Wife of your maternal uncle is your Maternal Aunty

 The efficiency in solving blood relation problems relies on having a clear understanding of the various blood relations. Here are some key relationships: 

(a) Brother: My mother's or father's son is my brother. 
(b) Sister: My mother's or father's daughter is my sister. 
(c) Grandfather: My mother's or father's father is my grandfather. 
(d) Aunt: My mother's or father's sister is my aunt.

(t) Granddaughter: My son’s or daughter’s daughter is my granddaughter.
