Homes of Wild Animals

• Wild animals do not live in man-made houses.
• They live in natural habitats like caves, lakes, dens, or open forest areas.
• Bears live in caves.
• Lions live in dens.
• Elephants, deer, and giraffes live in open forest areas.
• Birds build nests or live in holes in tree trunks.
• A tailor bird stitches leaves to make its nest.
• Rats and snakes live in holes in the ground.
• Rabbits live in burrows.
• Fish and octopuses live in water.
• Tortoises, frogs, and crocodiles live both on land and in water.
• A panther, which is a black leopard, lives in forests.

Food of Wild Animals

• Herbivores eat plants like grass, fruits, and leaves.
  Examples of herbivores: elephants, zebras, and deer.
• Carnivores hunt and eat other animals.
  Examples of carnivores: leopards, lions, and snakes.
• Omnivores eat both plants and animals.
  Examples of omnivores: bears and crows.
• Scavengers eat the flesh of dead and decaying animals, helping keep forests clean.

Animals Move in Different Ways

Endangered Animals
