Environment

• Air: Clean air is vital. Avoid pollution and plant trees for oxygen.
• Water: Use water wisely and keep rivers and lakes clean.
• Plants: Plants provide food, oxygen, and shelter. Plant and care for trees.
• Animals: Be kind to animals and care for them.
• Land: Keep soil clean and grow plants to green the environment.

A clean and healthy environment is very important for life. But many human activities have made the environment dirty:

• Cutting of trees makes air dirty.
• Smoke from vehicles and burning of wood and coal pollute air.
• Throwing garbage and industrial waste in water bodies pollutes water.

We can play an important role in saving our environment:

• Plant more trees. Make trees your friends and help them grow in number.
• Do not litter places around you with empty polybags, wrappers, cartons, etc. Throw them in the dustbin.
• Do not waste paper. Save as much paper as you can.
• Use paper, jute or cloth bags. Avoid using polythene bags.
• Do not waste electricity.
• Water is very precious. Use it very carefully. Save as much water as you can.
• Do not burn crackers.
• Take care of animals around you.

Taking care of our environment means keeping it clean and safe. We can do simple things like throwing garbage in dustbins, saving water, and planting trees. When we care for our environment, we make our world a better place for everyone.
