The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) has introduced the Global Greenhouse Gas Monitoring Infrastructure.
It aims to provide standardized and real-time tracking of greenhouse gases. The new platform integrates space-based and surface-based observing systems to improve the measurement of planet-warming pollution and inform policy decisions.

Swachhotsav, a 3-week long women-led cleanliness campaign under the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0, has been launched by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

The berth in the Nagaland cabinet led by Neiphiu Rio came five days after she and Hekani Jakhalu were elected as the first women MLAs of the State. Both represent the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).

The second Meeting of Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) under G20 India Presidency concluded in Hyderabad.
The two-day meeting was led by GPFI Co-Chair and G20 India Presidency and saw participation from Ministry of Finance and Central Bank representatives from G20 and non-G20 countries and International Organisations.

Dr Manik Saha was sworn in as the Chief Minister of the state of Tripura for the second term. The Assam Cabinet has decided to book men who marry minor girls under stringent laws prescribing imprisonment from two years to life. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said average of 31.8% of girls in Assam get married at the prohibited age and 11.7% of them become mothers before adulthood, higher than the national average.

The Atal Pension Yojana (APY) is a pension scheme targeted towards unorganised sector workers. It saw the highest-ever subscribers in 2022 with enrolments rising 36 per cent. The figure crossed 10 million for the first time in a calendar year, data released by the finance ministry showed. The number of enrolments in 2022 rose to 12.5 million from 9.2 million in 2021. The majority of subscribers (82 per cent) opted for a Rs 1,000 pension per month.

World Bank (WB) Managing Director Axel van Trotsenburg lauded Bangladesh as one of the world’s greatest development stories. The country has moved from being one of the poorest at its inception to one of the fastest growing countries of the world. The country’s 6 percent average economic growth per annum since 2000 has lifted millions of people out of poverty. It started with a status of poverty in 1972, became a lower-middle income country in 2015 and is now on the way to becoming an upper-middle income country.

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has launched an information database including a repository of information pertaining to municipal bonds on its website. It aims to assist municipal debt issuers and other stakeholders in the municipal debt market. The information database will also be accessible by using a QR Code. The repository also contains checklists for pre-listing requirements and sample letters and certificates from intermediaries to be obtained by an issuer.

Indian Navy’s fifth stealth Scorpene class Submarine INS Vagir was commissioned into the Indian Navy at the Naval Dockyard Mumbai. Six Scorpene Class submarines are being built in India by the Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) Mumbai, under collaboration with M/s Naval Group, France under Project 75 (P75). Vagir has the distinction of having the lowest build time among all indigenously manufactured submarines.
