here we're looking at an inspection
sticker the most important thing on the
inspection sticker is going to be these
numbers this says that if this
inspection sticker is going to expire on
September of the year 2014 as its noted
right there and we know this is an
inspection sticker because it says so
down here now what do inspection
stickers do they guarantee that the car
is mechanically sound or safe to drive
on the roads how do we guarantee this we
you take your car to a mechanic and he
will check the brakes the lights this
includes your headlights taillights and
license plate lights
the mechanic is also going to check and
make sure that your horn works that your
car does not produce too much pollution
by checking the exhaust system it's
going to make sure that the safety glass
which is your windshields don't have any
cracks in them that your car has a
license plate on the front in the back
your windshield wipers work your
rear-view mirror exist and it's
functioning it's not cracked but you
have seatbelts in your car and that your
tires have an appropriate tread depth
here I've got a picture of a tire these
grooves in the tire are called treads as
you drive these will wear down at a
certain point these get so low that
they're not safe to drive on how low is
too low if you stick a penny in the
tread of the tire and you can see
between the top of President Lincoln's
had on this penny and the edge of the
tire and the edge of the penny then
there they are too low if the groove
comes up high enough to cover part of
President Lincoln's hair then the tread
depth is high enough and finally they're
gonna check and make sure that your fuel
cap works so that you don't have any
leaking going on or gasoline and scaping
into the environment other things
they're going to check or going to be
they're going to check your hoses and
belts and finally the last thing I
checked is to see if you're a car
generally leaks okay this would include
things from gasoline to brake fluid to
transmission fluid to radiator fluid if
your car meets all these standards then
your car will get this very valuable
