to my channel this series is a series of
tutorials on Fortran programming now in
the previous tutorial we saw how to work
with select case and also cool in my
opinion a cooler program calendar trick
that you guys can have a look and try
okay now in this tutorial before we look
at fourth arrays which I thought of
putting it for the next tutorial which I
thought of in explaining guys something
which I which has to be told which I was
trying to tell you that but I didn't in
the past tutorials this is regarding
formatting especially print and read for
read statements for hunting ok I have a
program called as pharmacist or f95 here
and they all wrote a little bit to some
of it and I thought of actually walking
you guys through as to what's going on
this program called as formats okay as
an integer value and it is a variable a
real variable defined with implicit none
and then it has a read statement and a
two formal statements and two print
statements and the bunch of bunch of
comments now I'll go walk you guys
through what usually in a read statement
if you guys notice in the previous time
we used to write read statements like

indicates that this read statement does
not have any internal format or its
format free so the compiler is potent
compiler is allowed to use whatever
formats it has by default okay
now instead of this star I can write if
I write this as Phi this Phi or
indicator will indicate to read the read
statement here that it should follow the

indicated by this number five what this
Phi is just number represents just the
number represent representing something
like a serial number or something that
represents this format now this formal
statement is for assets name mentions
it's forgiving some formatting for
variables and presenting them proper and
sending them in the raid read statements
