same thing so yeah I'm gonna teach you
another way to do multiplication and
this way is more sophisticated so as
usual that data that text data for data

store any values in random access memory
so I'm just gonna use the registers

the values to multiply into registers so

2000 and the result is going to be
stored in T 0 so now I need another
value let's say add immediate the low

I want to multiply it by 10 you know

that 2,000 times 10 is gonna be 20,000
anyways yeah so last time I told you
that you could use mu L for
multiplication but now when I show you
mu L T for multiplication so we're gonna
say M ult right mu L T which is
multiplication and it takes two
registers you can see T 1 and T 2 let me
any registers 2 registers so the first
number is in T 0 so I'm going to say T 0
and the second number which is Tang it's
stored in T 1 so I say T 1
and that's it okay so now pay attention
here now this is doing the
multiplication for you
so t0 times t1 but what's the product
what's the product I don't know where it
is okay let me show you where it is
if you come a lot right down here right
down here you have two registers they're
special they are called low and high and
low and high well when you do
multiplication in this way the result is
going to be in low and high but you say
well two registers right two registers
well because a in this case you can
multiply numbers that are bigger if you
have two numbers and both of them are
and both of them are bigger than 16 bits
then you can do the multiplication here
but in that case because they're bigger
they're going to be stored in two
registers the product is going to be
store in two registers so this is like
an improvement over the other
multiplication instruction so how do you
get it how do you get a result from from
these two registers okay because 2,000
times times ten is twenty thousand you
know that you can use it you can just
get a value in one register so you can
just do one new instruction move from
low and move from low is cannot get the
value from this register low right here
which is the multiplication and it's
