the second method is we can provide
groove on launch so that the stress gets
distributed and is not concentrated at
particular area in case where there is a
hole in the shaft the stress will get
concentrated at that particular section
so what we can do provide smaller hole
near s so that the stress gets
distributed and fills not concentrated
for threaded for example if do is the
diameter of the shank and this is the
threaded section and the outer diameter
or the major diameter if it is vo equal
to the shank diameter and the core
diameter of the thread so there is a
possibility that it may break at the
diameter B P because it is the minimum
diameter so what we can do the shank
diameter vo
we can keep equal to DC that is the co
diameter so that the stress is not
concentrated in the threaded section and
the stress will be distributed
