welcome to step five of how to solve the
Rubik's Cube if you've come this far
you've managed to solve the white face
down the bottom and the first two layers
of the cube so what we're going to do in
this step is actually create a yellow
cross so we want yellow all across here
and yellow all across there which we
already have one thing to keep in mind
before I show you the actual sequence
that you need to do for this particular
step always have the yellow pointing at
12 o'clock so the middle yellow section
at the top here pointing at 12 now if by
any chance you have a configuration of
say you've got one here which is at nine
o'clock that is even better because then
when you point that particular one at 12
you'll have one at nine and that is a
good configuration to have because that
just means you'll use the sequence that
I'm about to show you less times in
order to achieve the la crosse but we
don't have that at the moment so let's
go with the sequence now so it's front
forward top forward right forward top
back right back and front back now look
what's happened we actually have that
configuration so if I keep turning that
around or even the other way for that
matter doesn't really matter as long as
that is pointing so that one there is
pointing at 12:00 and then we have this
one pointing at nine o'clock so this is
a perfect configuration now because I
think with the next time we do exactly
the same sequence we will end up getting
a yellow cross so let's do the same
thing again front forward top forward
right forward then top back right back
and we have front back and as you can
see we have our cross completed we have
an extra square here
that happens to be there that's fine
don't worry about that as long as you
can see a yellow cross that is all that
we need to worry about so that's pretty
much it if you feel comfortable with
