hey guys Who am I here for architecture
daily sketches now we've been getting
some requests for videos for drawing
vehicles one of them by mr. Ian Barker
here that's really cool guys we really
appreciate suggestions so keep them
coming so anyways this means that this
week our topic is drawing vehicles now
you can consider it as a continuation of
our previous Entourage related videos
like the ones for trees and human
figures now for those of you who may not
know entourage is basically things like
trees human figures vehicles furnitures
basically little details that add
context and scale to a drawing now my
way of drawing vehicles is actually
really really simple I remember I
learned the method a long time ago from
a video for animators so this is like a
simplified way that an animator might
draw a car and my method is just to draw
tree pebbles and then a cylinder carry
that cylinder screw and another cylinder
here
and then we just outline it I'm
basically that's it three pebbles two
cylinders and outline now you could stop
here because entre jiz they tend to be
very simple and abstract it so that it
doesn't distract from the building
that's why the way you draw the human
figures and the trees is so simple so
that he can put all the attention to the
building itself but you can add some
details or as much detail as you like
you know so long as it's not too
distracting like for example you can
maybe just add a hint that shows window
maybe another one here maybe you can
show the wheel shaft and that's it now
of course this is a view from a tree
quarter angle if you're drawing sketches
maybe you want to do it in elevation
forms it's not very much different
actually again you just draw tree fables
and instead of cylinders just circles
and an outline and you have a few
details if you're drawing it from the
front you only draw two pebbles one
small pebble on top and then a larger
flatter pebble at the bottom and then
because the cylinder if you're looking
at from the front it would look like a
rectangle but of course you have these
notches just to show the tires and that
would look something like something like
that maybe indication of the headlights
and I would stop at that now of course
if you want to draw different kinds of
vehicles again you just basically vary
the size of each of these pebbles so
let's say for example I want to draw a
sports car so a sports car would look
would probably have like a really long
front so I'm going to draw a long pebble
here then
the short rear and yes very wide
cylinder for because it has a really
wide wheelbase so then it looks
something like this I imagine now if you
want to make it look more realistic you
can of course refer to actual photos of
cars and you can just sort of break down
the shape of the car into these you know
the three pebbles and cylinders how
about maybe a truck okay a truck now
trucks are kind of rectangular so it
would look it would have like a
rectangular pebble like that then
another one like that
and really elongated rear shape like
that
then cylinder and cylinder again it
would look something like
okay so it's a pickup truck okay and
there you have it guys
you

simple method for drawing vehicles as an
entourage for architectural sketching
