let's look at plugin delay compensation
in FL Studio PDC is needed when a
plug-in has a delay or latency that
places its audio out of sync with the
rest of the project while FL Studio
doesn't have auto PDC it does have tools
that make the process very simple it
only takes a couple of mouse clicks as
you'll see I just like to clear up a
point about PDC it does not make the
offending plugins delay go away
PDC simply adds the same delay to all
the other plugins so everything's back
in sync what OPD see is exactly the same
with that off my chest let's see how to
set up PDC in FL Studio let's cause a
delay with Maximus and fix it using PDC
I'm going to turn the look ahead delay
on the plug-in to maximum 1000
milliseconds so that's why I'm Singh
with the project let's hear how that
sounds okay that's a real mess so we
need to compensate for the delay caused
by Maximus one thing to notice is that
all the mixer tracks are routed to the
master mixer track including the track
that contains Maximus the first thing we
do is select the track we're going to
use for our plugin delay compensation
and I'm going to rename it just to keep
things simple let's call it B D C and
with that with the PDC track selected
from the menu select create sub mix to
master what that is done is link all the
tracks that were originally linked to
the master track to the PDC track
there's one track we didn't want to send
to the PDC track and that's the drumlins
track that has Maximus so we'll send
that back to the master channel by route
to this track only now drumlins
is the only track going directly to the
master all the other tracks are linked
through
PTC now there's one more step simply
select EDC track in the mixer track
properties window there is a control for
setting delay we select set from
drumlins track
now the PTC track as a just conceded on
the bottom 1000 milliseconds delay and
we're done let's hear how that sounds
everything's back in sync again
and to show you that's the case I will
turn this off by resetting it okay we're
out of sync once again sip from from
let's track back in sync and that's all
