what's going on guys welcome back to the
channel in this video I'm gonna cover
how to traffic competitor sales and how
to check seasonality you know tool
called camel camel camel to make sure
that your products or the products
you're looking to buy are actually
selling before you buy inventory so I'm
just gonna show you guys a very simple
example here using a Christmas stocking
just because I think it's a seasonal
product and it should work out quite
well in this example so I just type in
Christmas stocking on Amazon here I'm
just gonna choose this one right here
because has a lot of reviews so I know
for an example product that's probably
been on for more than a year so I can
get straight guys some good numbers on
this one so what you're gonna do here is
just gonna copy the URL and you're gonna
go to a website called camel camel camel
calm you do have to create an account
but it's completely free so I can leave
a link for this in the description super
easy to use it's more for consumers to
find deals but it does work very well
for the purpose of it use it for today
so then when you're on camel camel camel
you can either type in the product name
here so you can just IP Christmas
stalking or if you want to find the
exact trucks a lot faster I just put in
the URL and just search it and then it's
gonna bring up see there's our product
right here same as the one we found on
Amazon and the first thing I'm gonna see
is the price history so you'll be able
to see well for this product I guess
it's this is the launch price here they
launched at just under $20 so if also
you want to find your competitors
launching strategy
I want price they start off with you can
come here and it'll show you where they
started and how the price changed over
time so as you can see here they started
off with a quite high price in November
then they went this is starting 2016
November and then they drop their price
quite low and then it goes up again and
start all over the place so what we're
gonna look for here though is the sales
rank so this is the bestseller ranking
it's not going to give you the exact
sales numbers if you're wanting to check
but but it does give you an indicator of
how many sales are actually making
because the more sales that they're
making the closer their bestseller
ranking is going
to zero so as we can see this one that's
spanning from December 2014 so it has
been on the market for quite a while all
the way till now which is December 2017
so let's take a look at how this how
this is doing and one thing I like to do
is break down to a year because right
now if we're looking at all you can see
it's quite a big time span so the best
seller ranking in some months has
dropped super low to like six hundred
thousand as you can see it really low
down here so let's just bring it to one
year so it's probably not as low okay so
still is but I'll just keep it to one
yourselves to keep it a little bit more
simple for you guys for our first look
so you can see here back in December
2016 they're really close to zero so
that means they're the best seller
ranking is quite good and they are
making a lot of sales in C as December
comes along the product isn't as popular
anymore so the sales drop for some
reason goes up a little bit here in
may/june but still quite low and you can
see as me coming to October heading into
this year's holiday season the ranking
shoots back up and we're right back up
that product ranking 1109 so you can see
that it is a seasonal product based on
how this chart looks if we expanded that
to all instead just a one year look you
can see in December again quite popular
drops down and you can see December
would be somewhere right around here
spikes back up again drops back down and
every time we're around that December
season the popularity the best seller
ranking gets really close to zero
meaning is super popular so this is
something you really won't want to look
out for because if you saw the numbers
for this product in December and you're
thinking maybe it's a good product to
sell in like June it's definitely not
right you'd want to make sure that's a
good product you can use year-round
obviously for this sort of product being
on Christmas a clear Christmas product
the seasonality is quite easily too easy
to determine but if you were using a
product maybe it wasn't as evident you'd
want to check this and make sure that
it's a good year-round product if that's
what you're wanting to build your
business off of course seasonal products
can be good but I just recommend for a
first-time sellers you want to make sure
that you can go with a product you can
sell year-round
just make sure you can get a steady flow
of sales
so another way like I said you can use
this to track your competitor sales so
if the $9.99 method which I covered in
my last video doesn't work you can also
check this and just make sure that best
seller ranking is close to zero and that
the sales are actually doing well and
doesn't have any big drops like this one
does here so that's a quick video on for
you guys on how to check seasonality and
make sure the product is selling to your
round super-important before or during
your inventory because you want to make
sure you can build a steady cash flow
off the product that you're buying for
your inventory and yeah the next video
