what's going on guys and welcome back to
the channel I know in my last video I
told you guys that this next video
coming up was going to be the third
template to go along with templates one
and two and just tie everything together
giving you that last piece of
information that you need in order to
order your first batch of inventory but
I decided to take a quick step back and
just touch on ordering a sample because
we did talk about that in the second
template and then explain the shipping
types in one more video and then give
you that third template in the end so
you just don't feel lost at any point in
time throughout the entire process so
just quickly touching on samples there's
really four main reasons for ordering a
sample the first being you want to make
sure that there's that your supplier
when manufacture is legitimate and they
actually have the product the second is
really to inspect the product and make
sure the quality is there you can hire
an inspection company as well which I'll
touch on towards the end of this course
but it's not 100% necessary sometimes if
you're happy with one sample and you
trust that company you're okay you don't
need to hire an inspection company the
third reason is because it's good to
have on hand for product photography
whether you're doing the product
photography yourself or whether you're
hiring someone it's always good to have
and then the fourth reason is just to
have the product in hand so you can
experience it test it and use it
yourself I've actually seen scenarios
where on a listing customers have asked
the seller a question about the product
and they've really I've actually seen
the answer from a seller where they say
I don't know I don't have the product in
hand now that's going to confuse a lot
of people because they don't understand
how Amazon FBA works and they're gonna
be really confused as to why you don't
have the product and it just looks
terrible on your part from the customer
service standpoint and why would you not
know about your own product so make sure
you have that product in hand yeah
that's super important so when do you
want to order your sample you're gonna
want to order your sample after you've
already negotiated a price for in your
bulk order so whether you're ordering
250 units over 500 units you just want
to make sure that the supplier has
already agreed to your price and that
quantity before you're gonna waste money
ordering a shipment so you're in the
time line of these videos after the
template I give you template number
three and you've already confirmed that
price I'm negotiated down the price to
you that you want then you can go ahead
and order a sample otherwise you can get
to a point where you've ordered
we'll spend that money and then realize
that the supplier is not willing to work
with you and do a batch order of 500 or
250 so really important that we do this
after we've already negotiated and got
them price to where we want to be next
something that I know a lot of people
have been asking you about is sample
costs so sample costs can be quite
expensive compared to a regular unit and
a lot of people get confused by this
because if they're buying a product that
typically goes for $2 or $3 they make a
charge the sample feet of $5,200 so this
is typical and you're not being ripped
off $100 is kind of on the higher end
but does depend on the size your cart
and the weight and all that but really
you're just paying for that express
door-to-door shipping because we're
trying to get this sample quickly so it
is a little bit more expensive than or a
lot more expensive than a typical you
know would be on its own then I want to
talk about customized samples quickly
because I know this is something that a
lot of people have been concerned about
there's a lot of manufacturers or most
manufacturers in China are not willing
to do customized samples until you've
already paid for your bulk order which
of course is not ideal for you because
you want to see the sample before you're
spending thousands of dollars ordering
your first product so in this case you
really have two options the first you
can move on to a supplier who is willing
to do a customized sample which might be
difficult to find or the second option
is to order a sample without the
branding or your customizations on it so
in this case what I would do is I would
order a sample without my branding on it
once it gets to me I check the quality
if everything looks good then what I
would just do is go ahead and actually
pay for the order as long as the
supplier is agreed to customize that
first batch of inventory so pay that
thousand let's say thousand dollars for
250 units and get them to customize the
250 units so the sir applies agreed to
this what they're typically going to do
is you're going to take one product they
have and they'll add your logo to it and
if you don't like it you can tell them
and I'll make adjustments but they just
want to have that capital for for the
rest of the order first before they
start spending money on these different
logos and templates to make the logos on
the product so once you pay for that
they'll do a bunch of different revision
if you don't like it once they have it
the way you like it they'll apply that
branding to all 250 units or 500 units
whatever it may be and then you're good
to go
