How to Create a Listing (Free Amazon Course Video 33) Video Lecture | Start an Amazon FBA Store: Learn and Build - Home Business

what's going on guys and welcome back to
my channel in this video I'm gonna be
going over how to create a listing so
I'm not gonna go into detail about how
you write a captivating listing or how
to take pictures or anything like that
yet those are still coming up in the
next few videos this is just gonna be
about how to get a UPC and actually get
your listing going then we'll do the
further in more in-depth steps later on
so let's talk for the computer here and
I'm gonna show you guys how are you
gonna UPC and actually create your
listing so the first thing you're gonna
do once you're logged into your seller
central account but you're gonna go to
the drop down menu for inventory so just
drop that down and select add a product
from there it'll take you to this page
here and all you're gonna have to do is
go over the list at section here and
just press skip so we don't need to
learn about the product details and all
that we're just gonna skip that for now
and it's going to take you to this page
so we're on this page if you were
selling a product it already exists you
could add the product name or the UPC
here and we're gonna search it or we're
just gonna be created a new listing so
we're just gonna click create a new
product listing right under it right
here then it's going to bring you to
this page so this is where you're
actually actually selecting the category
for your listing so make sure you put it
in the right category or you will risk
having to reassign and losing your
ranking so let's make sure that we find
the right category you can either go
into these categories here and just
narrow it down by clicking and selecting
which is that kinda gore you want to go
into or your going to search your
product name here or the type of product
and it'll take you right to it'll show
you the best options for categories and
then you can choose which one you'd like
so for an example a bird type
sewing-machine that's what we're gonna
be using for this example and as you can
see it now detected sewing-machine I hit
find category it gives me these narrow
dumb categories so I can choose
whichever one I think is best so
obviously for me I don't think the
sewing kit I just got straight out of
sewing machines here and select that
category once you select that category
it'll bring you to this page here so the
first thing we were required to enter on
this page once we've selected our
category is going to be the product ID
so for the product ID this is where our
UPC comments comes in handy so you can
see we can select from a different
we're gonna select UPC and this is where
you're gonna need to buy a UPC code so a
lot of people say UPC barcode but we
really only need the the number and
we're gonna enter here as apartheid II
so if you want to buy this and you can
buy from gs1 that is the recommended
place to buy according to Amazon so just
one if you buy it from there directly it
is a little bit more expensive I believe
it's up to $250 per barcode so the cost
a little higher people than if you were
to buy it from somewhere like speedy for
our coordination why barcodes weird on
the cluster from five to ten dollars but
the good thing about buying directly
from gs1 is that you know that they are
official do small barcodes and they
actually register they're registered
with your product the problem with these
resellers or these companies like speedy
barcodes I'm not a hundred percent sure
on this but I've heard that they buy
jerusalem barcodes in bulk so they've
got a really discounted rate and then
they resell them even though those
barcodes might already be assigned to
different products somewhere else so if
you do use those websites I need to buy
them for a discounted price knock
directly from gs1 you do risk of having
your listening removed from Amazon so I
wouldn't really take that risk if you
guys aren't willing to accept that but
personally I about my information my
barcodes and that's been good to me so
far so I'll just show you guys with the
gs1 website it looks like so this is
really kind if you're looking to buy
official just one barcode websites and
haven't registered to your product which
is great the other option I know a lot
of big sellers use this website is
nationwide barcode this is what I've
been using that I have no problem with
that's so far from what I know it's it
seems to be safe but there could always
be a potential for some problems so if
you're not willing to take any risk
definitely go directly with the gs1
barcodes
if you want one here and just want to
order barcodes so you guys what it looks
like you can see is that it only costs
you $10 for one or discounted rate if
you buy more but you do get a
certificate of authenticity as well so
what you would do here is we just enter
your business name and your email they
were email you your barcode and the
certificate of authenticity and all that
as well so there are official gs1
barcodes
I just don't know if they are actually
assigned to your products or not so yeah
that's how you guys put by UPC once you
have that number from cents your email
here so I look something like this it is
just a random one that I purchased
earlier and then what you do is enter
your product name so for this one I'm
not gonna go over how to actually do a
proper product name right now you can
put anything here and just go back and
edit it later so I could just say mini
sewing machine because the product but
then of course we want to maximize the
keywords that we can hear and then we'll
move on to that later and we'll come
back and making the best we can so then
we go to brand so this would be your
brand name so you're gonna make sure
you've done a trademark check for your
brand name but you could call it your
bad basically anything that is available
so I want to call it maybe like Sally's
sewing I could do that and then
manufacture so this would be your
company again if you wanted to do the
manufacturer you could enter your
manufacturer's name in China but most
people would not do that you just claim
it as your own so you can say Sally's
sewing on that again and then
manufacture part number you can pretty
much put whatever you want here so you
can see if you read this description for
most products this will be identical to
the model number so it's gonna be
whatever you want to call it so I would
just say like Sally's sewing machine one
something like that now what you're
gonna do is you're gonna go to you can
go over to variations if you had any
variations you can do that I'm not gonna
recommend you guys go with a product or
variations for your first product though
music seems a little bit more
complicated so you can skip over
variations and go to offer and what
you're gonna do here is you're what's
already gonna have a shipping template
set up for you their seller SKU it you
can call it anything you want so maybe I
would call it like sewing machine 1 or
you just put a number number like so so
a machine 1 then condition of course is
gonna be brand new because it is a new
product and then your price whatever you
want to put it out again you can go back
and change this later so you don't have
to worry about this too much solely 139
I need 7
and then quantity so right now I do is
enter 0 for this because you're gonna be
switching it to fulfilled by merging it
or fulfilled by Amazon later and
so that right now it's gonna be set to
filled by merchants so this would be how
much inventory you have in stock but you
actually don't have any in stock so just
put zero now and then when you convert
it to a fulfilled by Amazon later then
when you just create a shipping planet
it'll calculate how many units you have
for you so and you can go here and you
can add some images or you can just go
save and finish then it's gonna take you
back here which is the inventory page so
you can go back in and edit your listing
so in tomorrow's video we're going to go
over it how to actually write that
powerful listing going over to the below
points in the description so that would
be very important but for now I'm
specially guys the difference between
the FN SKU or FN SKU and the UPC
so you can see we took that UPC code we
didn't actually take a barcode we just
took the number and put it in as our
product identifier now when we actually
send our product to Amazon from a
manufacturer we're gonna have to have
the FNS key want it not the UPC but the
FN SKU so the way we find that is we're
just gonna select the product so you can
see I have one selected here on the left
hand side with that blue checkmark and
then we're gonna go to the action button
and we're gonna go to print item labels
so once you click print item labels it's
gonna give you you'll be able to see the
products here so you can see the SKU
number and as well as your title of the
product then you can choose how many of
them how many labels you want to print
and then you can choose the paper size
and then you go print click print item
labels and it will download and it will
generate a page like this with your
label on it so I've lured up my product
name right there but it'll have the
product name and the Aysen then it'll
have your little barcode here I just
copied this off a random Google image so
don't bother scanning it it's not
actually one of my products but you
would just send this to your supplier
and ask them to put this on the product
so you could also cut this out and
incorporate it onto your custom
packaging but that's how you find your
FM SKU that's the barcode you're gonna
be sending to your manufacturers so when
I get shipped to Amazon they can
actually track it and keep count of your
products so that's basically all I want
to cover in this video to recap if you
guys want to buy a UPC code from gs1
that is the safest way to go and you can
actually have your product registered
with that UPC so it's 100% safe you will
never risk getting your listing removed
or suspended anything like that
if you guys
willing to take a little bit more risk
with nationwide barcodes in my opinion I
think it's worth it because if anything
does happen where they do need me to
change my UPC code I could just change
on a unique identifier because the UPC
is not on my home directly on my
products what's all my product is the FN
SKU or FNS to you so like I said if you
guys want to take a little bit of risk
and go on the cheapest and go on the
cheaper side go with nationwide barcodes
otherwise just go with gs1 and then the
barcode the UPC code is only used for
putting it as your unique identifier you
weren't going to be printing that out or
sending that spear supplier when you are
going to be sending out to your supplier
is the FN SKU so you guys can download
the file like I showed you here send
that to your manufacturer and have it
put on your custom packaging or just
have it pro as kind of a sticker either
way it works but that's how your
manufacturers gonna send your items to
Amazon and Amazon can scan it and track
