A First Look At HODLcoin CPU Mining & Wallet (HODL) Video Lecture | CPU Mining: Basics to Expert - Cryptocurrency

hey guys it's Lee here with another
crypto mining update so this afternoon I
was reading the crypto mining blog which
is a really good blog I'd recommend that
you check it out is pretty good for
keeping up to date with the whole sort
of a crypto mining and type arena you'll
get updates on you know what software
has been released new miners all coins
and all stuff like that and I don't have
any affiliation with the sites just
aside I use to read personally and get
more updates and stuff from so worth
checking out
anyway getting back onto the subject of
what I actually wanted this so video to
be about um I was reading on here and it
said that there is this new all coin
called huddle Qin but it has some
interest in features of when ye worth
checking out so the interesting features
are that it is a super unique win and it
is mined with the actual huddle coin
wallet itself and so everyone it gets
the opportunity to CPU mind with their
computers and at the moment as surprised
from reading there is no polls or
anything so it's kind of like a fair
chance open game thing the other
interesting point about it is that the
kind of works like a proof of stake in
in terms of the actual wallet but it's
not proof of stake it's a proof of work
so you use your CPU from one in however
the currency that you hold within your
wallet also earns interest as well and
it says that it is 5% return per year so
there's kind of an incentive to one
because it's mine fairly
using your own CPU and but it's also an
incentive to keep the money in your
wallet and to earn interest over time so
a bit like a bank can in it in it to a
certain degree or a savings account USA
so yeah I thought we've quite a bit
interesting so here's some specs that
the latest said quite nicely I'm sharing
the various sort of specs fit says that
there isn't been any pre my nor
i POS or nothing like that so she's got
under by a fair lunch the Telus
purchased over 84 million and but it
also has some bonus payments so this is
gonna be what's used for the actual
interest so I do notice that the
interest is quite a lot but I guess
that's gonna be paid out over time on
that 5% basis so quite a lot taken so
let's move on this check out this link
which is takes us to the Bitcoin
software site and so I thought I just
get to download it install the water and
see if we can get mining with it and see
how we go from there so it's the same
sort of thing we need a Windows 64 set
up so they should go and down on that
got some nice-looking colorful graphs
showing the release of it so let's say
that to our downloads

penguins brand new folder yeah that's
one let's go and install that
yep over an extra way
when use a custom directory for the it
says the corporate really is the
blockchain and so I'm gonna also put
that in the same folders the
installation is it
varies
just got luck firewall notification so
it's going to allow that
it's gonna close the browser now so
we're gonna focus on what we're actually
working with okay so this is the main
wall it looks very similar to the other
bitcoin type cutie wallets on the
initial impression of it so at the
moment it is no Brooks was available I
guess we're just north way into it
connects to a couple of peers before
that starts downloading let's just have
a quick look through the options if any
one of the things I was wondering is
whether you can I know it's obviously
CPU mine but I was wondering whether you
can set things like how many CPU frets
you're gonna be using or anything like
that such as have a look
they're kind of all your basic not
monitor no useful since there's mining
on one gigabyte of RAM required
well actually just says one gigabyte
required it presumably and that going on
the actual crypto blog website I did
actuary daily air it requires one one
gig of ram so you can just turn it on or
off okay what I'm doing is I'm just
gonna pause the video here I'll let the
blockchain sync up and then I'll come
back to it and we'll see if we can whine
a little bit
okay guys we are back so that was about
15-20 minutes for us to sync up the
chain and we did have like a progress
bar but that's some cleared now we've I
think we have that yes six connections
so that's synced up nicely I'm just
gonna minimize that for a second just to
show you on the Bitcoin talk the forum
page I was just reading about how the
interest is paid out and so there's kind
of three different parts to it so you
have like a standard interest rate which
is 5% APR and that's just your regular
wallet balance the second part is a
bonus interest rate for early adopters
so whilst your money
I should have say Y should be a coin sir
in your wallet you're gonna get bonus
interest rates for the first up to
basically the second year but the
initial part is within the first sort of
90 days you get astronomical interest
rates which is great the third part is
this deposit bonus so this is quite an
interesting thing what you do is with
your huddled balance within your wallet
you can actually kind of lock it away
for a like an extra bonus interest
payment but what it also says is that
once it is sort kind of like lot locked
away you say it four different terms and
then you get a bonus interest payments
but once it's in there is lot so it's
kind of like a fixed term savings
account but yeah that was all quite
interesting so let's um close your
browser again and it will go back to it
so like I said we're now synched up so
what I'm gonna do is let's see if we can
get on with the mining and I'm just
going to turn that on and we'll see what
happens
okay so I can see at the bottom we've
got a little a symbol showing to say
that we are mining so we've got one one
eight frets so it's using all the
threads of the CPU let's just I bring up
so gonna show you what effect it's
having on the computer resources
and so you can see here my CPU is an
Intel i7 950 um I normally have it
overclocked but just notice that the
actual or the reported speed there is
less than what it should be and also the
true speed is also unless I'm not too
sure that is to be honest I will have to
go and check my bias ends and I'll come
back to it and by default I normally
have it overclocked up to about just
under 4 gigahertz normally and so I have
the check nodes here compares
okay so not too much was that
information again so it says that one
one in currently out sixty hashes per
second so it just has one one and eight
fritz I'm just gonna check on this CPU
clock speed and then I will continue
here so let's just pause the video once
again
okay we're back again so I just checked
on the buyer sentence and they all
appear to be normal so that was a little
bit weird and since run this program
called a real temp
which just checks the temperature of
your CPU
but it also tells you your clock speed
and multiplier
yeah and it seems to be running faster
the the model passed at least at our eye
levels I did have it I think it was
nineteen times 205 something like that
so where do we save that
shook of this somewhere
so I'm just gonna fire up the water
again and just see what how it runs this
time around
I'm just gonna say it to mine sort of
straight away and then we'll just take a
look let's take a look at the the
resource monitor as well just because
it's a bit more visual
okay so we have kind of um conflicting
information so yeah I don't know maybe
that's normal I just not really noticed
it on the performance monitor before all
the results wanted to say yeah just a
reporting it yeah two and a half because
I'm not too sure why that is honestly
couldn't couldn't say to be honest um
yeah the real Tim was picking out
correctly now here nineteen times two or
five days what I have it set to but just
this doesn't I don't perhaps someone can
update me on that militias that would
look and see what the hash rate is it
shows us might have to wait for it to
resync or get some beers oh no way our
morning okay so that's that say with a
i7 950 over got slightly to free point
nine Giga has called it we're getting
sixty hashes per second okay so I'm just
gonna leave that up and running what I
might also do is I have a Mac here as
well we have a intel r i5 just the
midbrain rid a mid-range one and I think
there was was there a map on our current
and she remember um but all installed on
that as well and we'll see how that
performs in comparison
just because it's a newer processor it
is an i-5 set sort of step down but it
is newer so it performs comparable II
with this one okay I think that's all
for this video guys actually it's not
what I'll do is I'll leave this one in
overnight and see if I can win some
coins and then we'll I'll do an update
from there okay guys so we've just
hopped over to the Mac now I just
installed the huddle wallet for the Mac
it's just a very straightforward process
let's just download straight install um
no complications so I won't show you
that the blockchain is just synched once
again took about 10 or 15 minutes and
what I'm going to do now is just start
mining
and see how that compares with the PC so
just gonna let that rum just for a
second okay just continuing I'm just
have to get the door there so our hash
rate is 55 hashes per second
it just says one one and four frets so a
little bit slower than the PC with the
i7 the processor that we have in this
Mac is an i5 a complement the exact
model it's just take a mm-hmm
does it report them all off that's what
we did somewhere I don't know
I'll find out put it another video it's
not such a big deal um so that's it so
what I'm going to do is some I'm gonna
leave the Mac mine and also the PC
running overnight and we will come back
about this time tomorrow and we'll see
if we found any blocks got some queens
and help we're dealing with it so I'll
leave it there for the time being
hey guys is Lee back here with another
update so it's been about 24 hours
roughly since started mining using the
Mac and also the PC with the huddle coin
wallet and on the Mac as you can see
within this frame we have no action at
all we're still mining for we free it
did go up to about 50 at one point on
the Mac but no coins as of yet
unfortunately on the actual PC I was
also mine in Ephraim Orpheum but had
stopped the the Hodel core because it
was basically locking up crashing a PC I
did find a way to reduce the actual
mining frits within the actual huddle
claw client but that didn't make any
difference either so I basically ditched
the myelin on the PC just so I could
focus on aetherium which is currently
the most
profitable coin so what I'm gonna do
from this point onwards is let it run
for another 24 hours or so and see if
we've got any Queens buyer by that point
so we'll update you then

to do a final update and get this video
wrapped up mostly because them I've got
quite a few other ideas and other videos
that I want to get made so this sort of
series or compilation of videos has been
very choppy experience and it hasn't
turned out how I wanted and you can see
on the actual desktop behind me that the
whole coin what it is still empty
we've got no transactions still mining
away there I should actually stop that
whilst we are recording at least but
yeah but so it's been running for a
couple of days about two and a half days
to be a bit more specific but we still
haven't got any coins so that's just
where we are someone's gonna wrap it up
here what I'll do is I'll probably leave
this wallet mining on the Mac and I'll
do like a follow-up video or if I have
any other that progress reports to to
let you guys know about so a little bit
disappointing but I think this coin has
got a little bit of a potential and a
qualified the idea of there the savings
and the interest payments on that sort
stuff so it's got potential but
unfortunately I couldn't really share or
expand on that with you but I'll come
back to that in the future so till next
