StatCrunch: Creating Dotplots Video Lecture | Statcrunch Tutorials for Beginners - Data & Analytics

In this video, you will
learn to create dot plots
using StatCrunch.
The data set I'll be using
is called Exam Scores.
This data set contains
23 exam scores
from an introductory
statistics course.
Let's begin by creating a dot
plot for the Exam 2 column.
To do so, under the Graph
menu, choose Dot Plot.
I'm going to select the Exam
2 column and click Compute.
Each dot in our dot
plot shown represents
one of the exam scores.
However, notice there's a lot
of white space around our dot
plot.
This is because
the dot plot window
defaults based on the dimensions
of our browser window.
You can drag the
corners to change
the size of our dot plot.
Also, if the plot is not
large enough by default,
to plot each points
individually,
one dot can represent
more than one data value.
When this is the
case, StatCrunch
will display that information
in the title of the dot plot.
Now, let's adjust our dot plot
to increase the points size,
since these are rather small.
Under the Options
menu, choose Edit.
This takes us back to
the original window
where we built our dot plot.
In this window, StatCrunch
has other options for the user
to customize their dot plot.
In the Point Size box, notice
the default point size is 2.
I'm going to change this
to 5 for this example
and click Compute.
Now the resulting dot plot
shown has much larger dots.
