GIMP 2.8 - Stars and Planets tutorial Video Lecture | A GIMP 2.8 Tutorial for Beginners - Design Softwares

hi I'm going to show you how we can
create this night sky with stars and
planets to do that we're going to need
to use GIMP to create this night sky and
then for the planets I'm going to use in
scape which is free vector-based
graphics editor so this is going to be a
two-part tutorial in the first part here
in GIMP we're gonna create this and in
the second part we're gonna add the
plants on my other channel 4 in scape
tutorials link for that channel will be
in the description you can subscribe
there and get notified when the
tutorials uploaded also when I upload
this tutorial I'm gonna add a link to
the video here in the description and I
don't know how well you can see here the
stars the planets because of the video
quality so I'm going to also add both
these images so the first link in the
description week where you can download
them for free and use them for wherever
you want so let's get started here and
create this first thing I'll do is
create a new layer with the foreground
color which is black click ok next thing
we go to filters lights and shadow this
here gradient flare and select this one
go to settings and now I have some
stored settings here zoom in a little
bit like this and I'm going to have to
enter these numbers here to create the
small stars
then I'll click anywhere here and click
okay
zoom out a little bit make sure let's
close this layer make it invisible and
you see we have our star here now what
I'm gonna do is grab the brush tool and
with black color I'm gonna paint over
this here like this zoom in a little bit
more make the brush garbage get rid of
this
so this is our first star you know the
way we add you know this many stars is
just use the clone tool get close here
make the brush a little bit bigger and
control click to clone this then I'm
gonna start just painting anywhere I
want and let's do this for a second
increase the opacity so hundred and then
start adding the stars you see how they
look now to make them less bright we can
reduce the opacity here so let's say
this number 43 and you see the stars
become less bright now as you can see
here and this ready image I've added a
lot of clusters of stars with different
brightness also I've added some bigger
stars with different color you can see
here now I'm not going to show you
actually I'm not going to do all this in
front of you because I'll be doing is
just clicking with my mouse changing the
opacity here to create stars with
different brightness but I'll show you
how you can create these bigger stars
with different color or go back to this
layer go to filters and we show this
gradient fair go to settings and all we
have to do is change the radius here to
let's say 30 maybe a little bit more 35
and let's click OK
you see now we have a bigger star here
you can again use the brush tool to
remove this if you don't want it to be
here and if you want to change the color
of the star this setting hue rotation is
the one that controls that so let's say
one this kind of star click OK
let's undo that because it placed it
over the last one let's click over here
and again we have a different star here
with another color so this is how you
can control the color and the size of
the stars and also with the clone tool
you can clone them with different
opacity to achieve different brightness
of the stars so like I said I'm not
going to repeat all this in front of you
now you know everything you need to know
to start creating this and like I said
this is available to download from the
first link in the description and you
can use it for the sacred part of the
tutorial where I'm going to add the
planets in the escape so that's it for
