Construct2 Invatory basic settings part 2 Video Lecture | Construct Tutorial: Become a Game Maker - Game Development

hey buddy its 54 new star and this is a
continuation of our inventory just put
I'm gonna put this up front it's not
like a hundred percent working it works
but there are some bugs and the fact
that this type of tutorial wasn't
suppose that exactly have this type of
inventory in it but it does work it's
just a lot of I have to actually take
out large portions of other code put in
this code and it doesn't work with
everything else just to let you know i
will be putting an inventory and a
top-down almost pokemon or not exactly
point one but there's a metal gear game
that was for the SMEs and I fingers
gameboy version or so I'll be taking
those sprites and doing a top-down
inventory a proper inventory so that
game will be coded just to have a
inventory in it it will also have a
top-down version of basically GTA style
mini-map so you can see your enemies and
all that type of stuff this I may still
put it in this tutorial so this tutorial
that ended it's just not properly put in
correctly do the fact that it wasn't
supposed to have that type of scene in
it okay but let's get straight to it so
um I have two types of ammo and they're
basically being replaced to this you go
a green bar Ivan Bart yellow bar so we
can select our we can't select any of
our weapons because they don't have any
ammo so i can select my machine gun and
i can now select my shotgun the shotgun
only has one bull i shot a shotgun shell
in it for some reason we can't select it
first we have to select this assault
rifle then we can select the shotgun
still working out the bug by the time i
get to the actual um like little mini
map tutorial for this series i will have
thick set
gu but right now I just wanted to finish
the user interface that user interface
with the inventory I may still put like
your nature or whatever and but right
now there's I just wanted to finish it
finish this tutorial so we hit the exit
button we then fire and we can walk I
was actually having issues where I you
know I could actually have the shotgun
shotgun to be switched to but the issue
with that it would then disable walking
and I was like why is doing that so we
only have one shot gun shell so I can't
show you they're popping up again
sometimes and there's an issue with that
you see there's there's there's like a
huge bug issue and i am going to fix
that i just want to show you the
inventory part okay so it's basically
everything else as you can see we always
have a shotgun and all that stuff so
basically what i did was i duplicate
duplicated on touch stuff so it's on
touch sprite 31 that's the assault rifle
we didn't switch it over to the shotgun
did shot ammo and then set the animation
to shotgun play from beginning it's
touching right okay we don't need to
worry about that uncle is my shotgun add
one shot two shot ammo set animation
shotgun set shot text to shot ammo
destroy the sprite um
make sure why do you need to do is set
the shotgun text and set that to another
position to that
so there we go we got one shot gun show
at ok let's get a little bug and this
all will be fixed there we go boom we
shot it we're good to go so for the most
part it does work it's just this wasn't
totally meant to have a type of men you
like that so it's basically used to
placate everything that you did with the
assault rifle move it over to the
shotgun I made another state of standing
so our state is standing for two let's
hold the rifle or standing of three was
to uh dude was to hold a shotgun on a
move that over there so stay standing
three-set animation the shotgun okay so
step basically what you're going to do
is stay standing three equals holding a
shotgun stay standing to is holding a
rifle stay standing zero is set idle
ammo rifle equals zero subtract two from
stays standing and shotgun ammo equals
zero subtract three from state is
standing you know that will set you back
the idol pose and then you should be
able to walk after still working on
these they're they're kind of buggy but
they do work so if I were to actually I
don't have any muscle though so pick up
shotgun and we pick up the salt rifle
the issue is if I shoot that then I
switch it over to the shotgun boom oh ok
so it does work promise is that it
doesn't still remember the amount of
ammo and I'm actually still working on
that so that is about it again this this
actual game wasn't supposed to have a
menu in it
so me actually trying to code it into it
would take a bit longer and would not
actually be in the full coding process I
would see if I can actually just junk a
lot of this code and build it for the
menu but that may take some time again
I'm going to build a little little box
so we can actually like a little mini
version of the menu of the game so as
you actually play it so let's hit play
so as we play you would have a ghosted
image basically in a corner of the mini
game level to where you would see little
box versions of like the player would be
green box and the enemies would be red
boxes and you know if you kill one than
a red box with this pair so it'd be like
a little mini game I'm inside screen
telling you oh you're going near an
enemy or you know the different types of
enemies maybe if it's purple it's a
special enemy or if it's right it's a
regular enemy so again not perfect i
will see if i can fix it up I've been
kind of tired been working a lot doing a
lot of stuff on the channel and I've
been messing around with my computer a
lot and actually fixing the family's
computer anybody who has windows 8 if
you like Windows 8 more power to you but
I've just removing a graphics card at
first you delete drivers are and then
you remove the refworks card and then
you and then you power up your computer
again and I had to actually we fix it
the first time it happened again
yesterday I had to back up everything I
actually lost stuff I was trying to save
some family members stuff that was more
important than mine it's got all say I
lost a whole bunch of stuff and then I
had to reinstall windows 8 and I was
just super super pissed so I had a very
busy day yesterday and I went to work so
again I just kind of finished this
worked on this last night worked on it
this morning it's you know
rough estate it works it's not perfect
I'm going to see if I can fix it up a
bit more so it does work one hundred
percent but i'll be working on the
little you know enemy detector for the
on screen and i'll be working on then
i'll be working on either the top down
either like going back to a top-down
shooter so you can see enemies and that
and use a user interface and I user
interface but a inventory for that and
that's more like a metal gear type game
or else which is totally over to a
top-down turret defense game and then we
can mess around with inventories over
there with you know drag and drop stuff
which we haven't actually covered yet so
hopefully guys this helped if it didn't

you know there's some stuff that got you
know I can't really do tutorial on but I
know the answer to and you know and you

30 minute video you know that you know
