hey buddy it's it's for new starting
today we're here we're back with grotto
this time we're going to be dealing with
some and health based stuff so it's
going to be basically health ammo and
collection of keys from moving up
special doors so you're basically on a
planet that's an ancient planet that has
mystical stuff and you need certain Keys
open doors don't doors and all that
stuff to get to it so you're supposed to
collect all your parts that you need for
your ship and we're going to actually
get to that in the next episode but I
want to actually deal with some of the
enemies then we're going to be dealing
with and this so we need to figure out
okay how we set up all the health stuff
how do we set up all the pick up stuff
because I wanted to make sure you guys
got to that before we actually start
dealing into multiple enemies different
type of the enemy AI so there might be a
guy who just stands there and rotates to
wherever you're facing so you could jump
over he's going to rotate to where you
are if you jump over them again he'll
rotate to the other side of you know
which side you're facing up and he'll
just constantly shoot fireballs or slimy
or whatever then again you could have an
a smarter enemy that due to the geometry
in the area he will shoot globs at you
and if his health is below certain
points he will retreat retreat to a
different area go to get further back
and you'll have to get closer to him but
as soon as you're like really close dumb
he's just going to go to blob mode and
issue with a whole bunch of glob split
that's a little bit later we're going to
set up we're getting set up for that so
we have our basic enemy right now and
this is just a setup to make sure all of
our stuff is working so we have a health
we have ammo and we have key and if you
guys been downloading the files we have
two layers we have layer 0 and layer 1
so layer layer one that is visible and
it contains all of the stuff that does
not move so this is the stuff that stays
inside the scene like forever and then
we have the stuff that doesn't
stuff does move okay or you know it is
in the actual game scene so we're going
to run the layout and I'm actually going
to use my wazza that molesky's but my
arrow keys but i'ma show real quick when
I use the UI layout because is set up
for Android and later iOS and web when
you play web game on your touchscreen
this is going to work so right now I
have the code set up to where if your
health is above a certain point you
can't collect health points because the
health and things on this planet all
they give out five percent health you
know it's come it's kind of a stupid
rule but it's kind of like one of those
weird things that get you really angry
also it's bouncing up and down because I
wanted some sort of like realistic game
care and you know it's like it's just
floating there why is it floating well
it's part of the game all right so also
we can't go there's a block this
probably used to be an ancient building
but now its collapse but we have a
little Chomper here let's go visit
Chomper like i said i am going to just
use my lost keys oh my goodness i have
eighty percent hell's whoosh eighty-five
percent health so that's our health so a
little bit later on so further down with
the level so jump over Chomper so we
have a very very slow floating elevator
let's just float down so it down here
we're going to have some more enemies
for more globs and then we're going to
have a door over here so probably right
over here somewhere we're gonna actually
going to have a key probably a key right
before we hit the door and it's also
going to be floating and we need that
key to access the door so that door is
going to be a actual animated you know
side viewing gate that's going to slowly
go up and then we enter a a ruinous
building so we actually find parts of
our ships so we're going to find what we
call scrap so we're going to need to
have to actually patch parts of our ship
as now you know cause issue that has
actually crashed and we need to pick up
engines starters all
you know techno stuff and then fuel so
we're also going to need fuel so we're
going to put up you I for that but
actually what I want also wanted to do
with I know you got a lot of guys wanted
to do inventory system i have done the
basic inventory occasionally with weapon
systems what I actually wanted to do is
to set up an inventory to where you
could see how much stuff so you cook
like the I button and it will say hey
you have collected this much stuff and
so you know it would say hey you have
collected 10 out of 20 containers of oil
or feel or and you need to collect this
much more so it's not really a you know
it's more like a info system on saying
hey you need do this stuff but also
would like it would also Intel all like
your health ammo and key a little little
guy view I'm trying to see if i can get
a sprite artists to recolor these guys
I'm sure I could pawan it done like
really really good and then add some
more to the sprite sheet so you can have
like a little assistant to where you can
add in a better suit space suit because
brandies very space suit but I want to
actually add an any space suit that
probably has a little shielding to it or
is better inclined for going through
acid pools or something like that so
we're actually going to be adding in a
there's a health bar or a health system
here I want to add in a health but a
also a suit system so instead of health
and armor it's a health and suit
integrity and we have mo the key and
then what we collect so like this video
and one second I actually want to show
you the environments the actual system
so nothing has changed so the only code
that i actually have for this setup
right here is pickups so we have a
player on collision with sprite 9 which
is the health system add 5 to health set
text to health
but we need a i added i clicked right
and you add another condition that says
health has to be um choose a variable
variable health less than 95 so if your
health is less than 95 you can collect
the health soon I'll be changing that
too it just needs to fill up whatever
health that you don't have left or what
you need enemy set up it's basically on
collision with the enemy subtract 10
from health set text to health also this
file will be down below guys in case you
want to actually download it take a look
at it I do have a global variable so if
you see any metal our videos with global
burials that basically global variables
interact with anything in any of the
scenes or anything within that scene so
you can always reference it that's the
text text text and how you actually the
setup is for this texting we're just
going to do it right now we're going to
see add action and then we're actually
going to click on text so I think this
text too so we're going to click on text
too we're going to say set text and what
we do now is that it wants us to put in
parentheses we don't put in parentheses
we just say what the global variable was
and the global variable was health so
it's now going to reference everything
that is said in health so if health
changes 25 see it says add 5 to health
health now has a number variable
attached to it you can delete that and
we can go up here global number health
health the variable is equal to 100 that
means whenever we referenced that line
health equals 100 ok health minus 22
health we're now at 80 at 585 so that's
what this is all about it's very simple

and a couple of slimey's and different
types of AI so the slimey's are going to
be kind of the shorter ones even though
their attacks are weaker they're going
to be just attacking you because you
know they don't want their weaker than
the flame ball guys but the phloem got
flame ball guys are kind of like we fear
nothing which is causing which causes
them to die or you can just jump over
them also the store is going to be put
in place here so I need sub some sprites
for that so it will move up or down and
then you walk through and you go into a
nice low environment I know a lot of you
guys actually like it when I actually do
it but I was kind of short on time and I
wanted to put out the video Evans like
super busy with some projects lately but
I want to continue on doing this
tutorials and I didn't want to leave you
hanging for a super long time so again
