so how do you straighten a crooked image
this is a picture of the sea with the
horizon is crooked the yellow line is
there to indicate that that horizon is
not straight how can you straighten that
image you can pixel art you can tilt the
image and make a copy so it's open the
image now I need to tilt the image so
that it's straight go to edits free
transform free transform is a tool that
lets you change the size of an image
crop it do special effects over by
grabbing the hand look and make it
smaller different effects by adjusting
that two-headed arrow and dragging the
blue handles now it's not what we want
to use transform for in this case when
you go to the bottom right of the
picture you will see a directional arrow
now when I hold the mouse down I can now
move and tilt that picture to straighten
up that horizon only needs a slight
adjustment it now leaves whites around
the edges which will fix up shortly when
you're happy with the placement of your
horizon
click Edit it say yes to apply the
changes and now we need to remove the
white so we're going to use the marquee
tool for that so click the marquee tool
you have got some options up here if you
wanted a certain size an aspect ratio or
a fixed size I'm gonna have no
restriction and all I want to do is draw
a square inside that you need to remove
the white getting as much of that
picture as possible and then when I'm
happy with that edit and copy so I now
have a copy of that picture
now I want to create a new image from
the copy excel file new image create
image from clipboard and I've got to
here's the new image with the straight
horizon behind it is the original image
so the image on the left is the original
the one on the right is with the
straight horizon a probably could have
tilted it a bit more and it's changed
slightly the size now in reaching over
640 by 4 to 6 and this one is now 6 8 2
times 3 8 5 and then you can adjust it
if you want to so normal the image
brightness and contrast may be a little
brighter
what if you want to do adjust and change
it and then save it so I can close this
one and I don't want to save that one
this is my new one file and save and
save it in your normal well save it as a
JPEG get 100% okay and give it another
name so it's a straight horizon into the
Downloads folder there's the original
with the yellow line and the straight
one so this it's somewhat straighter
