hey how you doing hope everybody's
awesomesauce what I'm gonna show you a
really quick tutorial on how to sort of
create embossed or sort of sticky Oh
text which will help you create logos
desktop screen savers and a few variants
of it I've lost a few tutorials and
they're not entirely writes up or not
completely right so I'm gonna show you
the right way well I saw I've just got a
wooden background just you can download
it from Google or you can make it
whatever you want to do but just yet
just get a wooden background and make it
quite big if you're gonna use a desktop
screensaver my text I'm going to use I'm
going to use stencil right and the
reason I'm gonna use stencil is because
I want it to look as though it's
stenciled in and I'm just gonna type be
it's quite big you know that's alright
because I want a desktop background and
you notice I've got my center lines
turned on and the simple way to turn you
sent the lines on is go to view guides
and just check the show guides at
objects enter and he just shows you when
you're at the center basically okay
that's Center and and you know just more
text is black so it's quite important it
takes this black and then gonna
duplicate that last I want to rename
that one top and this one again that's
me being as creative as ever top and
bottom say write the bottom one
double-click the selectable make it
white what you want to do is offset it
just a little bit so make sure it's
selected in your layers painting or just
offset it a little bit tiny target right
and I normally go left to use my arrow
keys and go left to and upper water okay
now with the top layer again selected
what I want to do is copy again and and
turn that top copy off just turn it off
drag it to the bottom but turn the top
copy off right I'll show you why in a
minute right now with the top layer
selected not the top copy the top layer
selected go to my blending mode and I'm
just gonna go soft light and then the
bottom or bottom layer selected I'm
gonna go to blending mode and go
something like again you notice it gives
a sort beveled effect so a sticky out
effect and that in itself is quite
effective
given the right surface that you could
show you any any surface right what I'm
gonna show you now quickly is grab this
top copy that we made and what I want
you to do is rename it and name it to
blur I'm just gonna call it blur right
I'll put it back
highlights do there put it back I'm then
going to with my arrow keys put it over
the top directly over the top of my
beveled text then what I'm gonna do is
what click it and convert to pixels
once I've converted into pixels I want
to go to that awesome thing Gaussian
blur and I want to just give just gives
it a more beveled effect to the text
look if you turn it off and then turn it
on I'm sure you'll agree that it gives
it just a slightly more beveled effect
what you can do as well is what click on
the blur duplicate that I say you've got
to and highlight the default and group
them both
you can use the go to blending normal
okay
so that's really really simple hope that
helps you out gives you some ideas that
says there be creative let me just
export that to you export that foyer and
just show you what it looks like on a on
a screen sets screens so I know what it
is Coria
and then go desktop picture and let's
see weapons
