C# Made Easy Tutorial 22 - SongPlayer [Part 1] Video Lecture | C# Game Development: Game Making made Easy (English)

so hello everybody and welcome to your
22nd c sharp ax in a tutorial so when
this retort we're going to be expanding
upon we learned in the last tutorial so
we learned about the time spent in the
last tutorial and in this tutorial we're
going to be learning on how to create a
media player so a very simple one what
we're going to be expanding on what
we've learned in the last tutorial to
make a code a bit cleaner more readable
and more effective so as you've noticed
an hour time span we repeat a lot of
things or repeat is the play time and
the end time so we repeat the second and
converting it to minutes etc etc so if
we had a function to do that for us or
method sorry I'm talking to you c plus
plus but if we had a method to do that
for us then that would be great so all
we're going to essentially do that so
right now I'm going to make a private
method called um what should I call it
I'll put display time sorry what just
happened okay some random thing just
popped up okay so display time and then
here I'm going to take a ton spend
variable so off the bat I'm going to
take two things right here so I'm going
to take the minutes and I'm going to
take these seconds so right right now
I'm going to SI is equal to x 1 dot
minutes and the seconds is equal to x
band dot seconds okay now one thing I
forgot to do is put this to string and
got the current this is string type okay
so oh I put a private string a display a
display
because what I'm going to be doing is
I'm going to be returning a string type
so yeah it's giving me the error because
I never return the value yet ok so we
stored our minutes when we start our
seconds okay so that's simple enough so
what we want to do is that we want to
say that if seconds is less than 10 then
we will return route 10 minutes plus so
yeah plus 0 plus colon 0 and I'm going
to put this a plus seconds so if it's
like a if it's like nine seconds I'll
say like or into like one minute I'll be
one minute colon zero nine instead of 1
colon nine so it essentially makes it
better than that sense oh and then we'll
put that if else then we return minutes
plus colon plus seconds so yeah this is
in seconds isn't of an integer type so
we have to change it to enter the type
so we could say that you do int parse
these seconds sorry so this will
essentially change the string to enter
your type so you do Empire seconds to
see if it's less than 10 seconds and if
it is and it will put a zero out to the
colon okay so simple enough so so we
have our our method right here so for
our methods and so as for if we're doing
all this stuff our method handles that
for us okay so we can get rid of all
that stuff right here so all in our and
a drawstring command what we essentially
have to do is this so we erase this we
do display time
and we put in our time so first off with
the playtime and then we'll display our
time and right here all have to do is
erase all of this sorry put display time
and then put in the end time so let's
test this to see if it runs correctly
font oh sorry I deleted that like an
idiot but yeah so we have a sprite font
font so if we run this program
everything should run smoothly so it
displays are linear tonight or seconds
so I don't know why it's not displaying
it should be you should display the
minute and stuff there right
the minute is not explained so that
means we we did some minimus taking our
program so let's check out what we did
so notice what I did right here I said
that return minutes it's equal to this
and stuff like that that was my bad i'm
supposed to change that to a plus sign
okay so let me run this again to see
everything is okay okay so everything
went smoothly so shows the minutes and
it shows the seconds and etc etc so it
shows everything right there okay so so
we got the we got the time down or maybe
you want to semis a time or whatever so
we got the time down so what we want to
do is you want to make a new string
called a song name okay and the song
name is going to be equal to the file
name or whatever the song is playing so
song name is equal to VG m dot name okay
so that's our name right there so we're
going to want to display the song name
as well spritebatch drawstring so we
have our font you might may want to
change the form for this it's up to you
we were a song named our position we can
put the position that vector 20 and we
put the colors red ok so we have our
song name displayed on the screen
